Geelong people!!!

Yes they have Mooney and Hawkins but let’s be honest, if Brad Miller was playing with there midfield delivering I’m confident he would kick 60 goals too...

Im just worried we have too many of them now, and they wont all be able to fit into the side in the future when we may have a problem at full forward...scully, trengove, gysberts, tapscott, grimes, morton (if he doesnt go forward), sylvia, jones, moloney, davey, blease, strauss as well plus we still have green and bruce for a few more years and you can add maric, bennel and jetta who can all possibly player there as well...am i missing anyone?

Let's be honest here. Don't people feel that when they list their future forward line they feel a bit underwhelmed putting Bate at CHF. He's only a flanker. Rarely do you see him take pack marks.

Watts is a better chance at being the big CHF that we need.

Needed to grab a forward - missed out - while bate can sink a few, Jurrah will be an x factor, Watts will be a strong CHF but we have no players capable of kicking a bag each week.

Very depressing - it is all ok to look at Geelong but they have been lucky. Had their arse kicked by Hawthorn, solid forwards and should have lost to the Saints had they not missed so many easy opportuinities.

Rubbish post.

I don't think we can under estimate players like Maric, Wonna, Green ect the goal kicking mids. I don't think we need that many guys in the forward when we may have a dominant midfield.

Yea but i think even without ONE of tapscott and gyberts our midfield would still be dominant, there are so many of them now, surely one less wouldnt make too much of a difference...but a hole at FF could make a massive difference...i really hope that the likes of talia, black and griffthis dont become power forwards of the afl or we have missed our chance.

Lets just hope either Martin or Fitzpatrick can fill that hole because their really isnt anyone else big enough to fill that stay at home role in our squad...

Exatcly. We have a "big bodied" focal point up forward to straigten us up in Jack Watts How many more do we really need? Yes if Buddy said he wanted to come to Melbourne i'm sure we'd fit him in. My point is that unless a player can win his spot in the side on football ability alone then we don't want him.

I'd like to see us back Stef Martin next season. Let him rotate between back-up ruck for Jamar and playing a key role up forward. Sadly, there is no room for him in our current backline with Warnock, Frawley, Garland and Rivers. 2009 was very much a learning curve for him, so hopefully he will gain more confidence and show a few good signs in 2010. Otherwise we're stuck with stop-gap solutions in Johnson/Miller/Newton.

Watts is earmarked for a CHF role, when we have to bomb it long to the goal sqaure whichh WILL happen from time to time when a player is under pressure who is going to mark the ball or at least make a contest...fingers crossed for martin or fitzpatrick because their the only ones who could possibly do it

Gawn could prove very usefull resting up forward as well.

Doubt i want to go into a final in a few years time with our hopes pinned on a resting ruckmen to go full forward and kick our goals...

I don't think he's suggesting we rely on him resting at full forward kicking goals, just that he could prove a handful when resting in the forward line.

Interesting thing is that he likens himself to Brad Ottens and Kurt Tippett, he could become a full fledged forward if we chose to develop him as one.

We won't but we could.
