does the dog from that pie add on tv realise that maybe if he were a little more intense he'd get some pie? he sounds awfully casual and laconic on the voiceover.

Until now I had never seen the word Lackadaisical in print.

I've also never read any jane Austen either..

Connected??? I dunno:confused:

it sounds like lacks-a rather than lacka but yeah i had no idea how to spell it.

normally i just say laconic instead.

interesting that nobody has commented on the dog yet!

and i have read jane austen.

Which pie ad?

I suspect some people say/write it 'Lacsidaisical' because it was shortened to 'lacs' and then some people don't know what it was shortened from and hence make a mistake when putting it in full.

Sergeant pies - i remember the brand now.

and just quietly how hot is the older woman in the new oven chips add!

It is pronounced "lak-a-..." there's no "laks-..." I remember hearing a football commentator pronounce it "laks-..." but I can't remember who... That's not right.

Laconic and lackadaisical do not mean the same thing. Someone who is laconic is brief and terse in the way they speak. I remember Robert Walls commentating and he said that a certain player was laconic, and I remember thinking "WTF?"

But getting back to the pies... I've been meaning to go and buy one and see how they go.

the pastry and meat are of noticeably better quality than a four n twenty, but getting your hands on a sergeant at half time at the footy isn't really a viable option for me, so four n twenty gets the nod.

I wasn't really too concerned about having one at the footy. But it's good to hear that the food is good. What about the price? Good value?

tasted like any other pie but that was probably more to do with my oven than anything else.
