Eagles need to keep their momentum going, I think they will want to finish on top. They will go all out this week, though Crows are good enough to beat them anyway at home.

They'll want to avoid the Hawks in week 1 imo.
Just a thought.

Hawthorn are finished mate.
West Coast won't fear them whatsoever. The last time they played, West Coast had their measure for three quarters of the match before Hawthorn, led by their usual older brigade squeezed their way infront again.

This time around, West Coast will welcome in Naitanui & Hill and Darling will also have a good month more of match fitness under his belt. He'll better than what he was that night against them.

Hawthorn are getting found as the season draws to a close. It took a very long time but it was always going to happen. Their engine room is run by 30+ year old's. It happens to every club. You don't stay up forever and it's amazing their old brigade were able to last as long as they did but now comes the decline.
I can see Hawthorn going out in straight sets this year.

To be honest, I felt this way about the Hawks in 2013 going into their qualifying final. They had played the Swans the week before hand, and even though they won by 2 goals, it was a tight game, and they were facing the qualifying final without Buddy and Cyril, while the Swans had Hannebury and Tippett back in their squad. Yet they ended up running out winners by 10 goals.

There's no guarantees where the Hawks are concerned.

they had only lost 3 games that year though. They've lost 6 games this year already and they are scoring about one goal less per game.

Very true. I still wouldn't be confident about the Eagles though (although I'd be hoping like hell that they get the win).
for me I just don't see a lot of the Eagles games. But looking at their results and reading the reviews they are a very good outfit.

if the hawks play the eagles in WA for the first final they will find out what unsocial footy is all about.

They are very good, given the amount of injuries they have had to cover.

In normal years I'd agree whole heartedly, but this year the Dorks have some key players the players likely to bring the unsociable stuff sitting on the edge of suspension I do believe.

Don't worry, you pick one- the MRP always look after their comrades.
It'll no doubt be more of the usual- i.e.:
1. No footage available, therefore it didn't happen.
2. Insufficient force.
3. no other reasonable way to contest the ball.

and, if they absolutely CANNOT get the offender off the hook-
3. careless, low impact, body contact....

Love to agree, but believe it when I see it. Still expecting them to win the flag. It's what they do. They normally don't blow their chances like us either.

I'm sort of expecting them to win it, but if they lose that first trip to the West, happy days ....

MATTHEW Priddis is one of several West Coast Eagles who could join Luke Hodge and Nat Fyfe on the sidelines in SuperCoach Grand Final week.

It’s understood West Coast plans to manage key personnel ahead of Sunday’s dead-rubber in Adelaide.

The Eagles, who host St Kilda at Subiaco in Round 23, need only win one of their next two games to secure second spot and home ground advantage during finals

I've just come to the realization that we're not going to make finals this year. WCE couldnt care less if they drop this game against the Crows, their still going to finish 2nd win lose or draw and wont be playing hard like it means something. Unlike the Crows who would rather have it in the bag this week, other than a do or die game in a weeks time in Geelong. I hope I'm wrong but changing my tip right now form Eagles to Crows.

Scroll down though and you'll see this:

The Eagles have taken 23 players to Adelaide with Tom Barrass the travelling emergency ahead of Tom Lamb and Kane Lucas.

So the only player who's travelled as an emergency is a key defender. There's no point in the Eagles flying Priddis to Adelaide if he was going to be rested, and even if he was, they'd certainly have one of the other two emergencies on stand-by. To me it suggests McGovern may be a late out given he's only missed two weeks with a hamstring injury.
