I have essendon in 5th.

1% in percentage behind Sydney so if we can beat Collingwood by a bit I think we can get that 4th position. Or maybe if Sydney were beaten by Melbourne.

That would see us play the Crows here in Week 1, then should we win most likely the Pies in Week 2 after they get their arse kicked in Brisbane. That would see the poor Power have to play their "home" preliminary final against us at the MCG...I like that idea. Imagine the whinging from Mark Williams!

On the other side of the draw, Sydney would beat Freo then get their bum kicked in Perth by WC, who would then go to the Gabba to play Bris. An Essendon-Brisbane GF perhaps?

We would beat Adelaide at the G no doubt.

Collingwood maybe. Then if we get passed that we will beat Port here.

Port has earned a prelim at AAMI, should they win in week 1, regardless of opposition

To honour the contract, they will have to play an all-interstate prelim at the G, possibly Bris-Syd.

People are going to raise a stink about that if it happens, mark my words.

THe logical thing to get the biggest crowds would be to play a prelim involving a vic team at the G and a the other one at Telstra Stadium or something, but since when was the AFL ever logical? Logical to them is screwing over the victorians at every chance so they can delight at the premiership trophy going interstate as much as possible.

No, the logical thing to do is give the team that has been best performed for the season the home Prelim final that they deserve. Can you imagine if someone made Essendon travel for the prelim in 1999, 2000 and 2001 when we were Minor Premiers?

BUT

The way your playing at the moment(which isn't very good thats for sure) I think we could beat you. Playing at AAMI Stadium or in Melbourne.

Yes. Port finished higher than Brisbane, so their right to a home prelim final overrides Brisbane's. The fact that Port are playing a Victorian team while Brisbane are playing an interstate team is irrelevant - Port rank above Brisbane in order for a home prelim final.
