Why is he being named in the VFL team in an extended team?
Collingwood VFL line-up:

HF: Danny Stanley, Chris Dawes, Ryan Cook
F: Chris Bryan, Anthony Rocca, John McCarthy
Foll: Cameron Wood, Steele Sidebottom, Leon Davis
I/C (from): Tim Hunt, Johnny Bennell, Lachlan Keeffe, Damian Peverill, Shannon Cox, Jarryd Blair, Brent Macaffer, Kris Pendlebury, Ryan Colbert, Anthony Corrie, Kevin Dyas

VFL Team

and Woody for that matter!

Reading too much into it.

Because we have an extended bench, some players in the team are listed in the VFL team too.

No need for concern.

Leon and Woody will both be playing on Sunday.

What bemuses me is Rus lining up on a HBF.

Can we please push him to FF or at least FP/HFF.

Yeah thought so, but I don't see what the point of naming players in the VFL team if they're gonna be playing AFL (as certanties) I would understand if say Spud Brown was named because he is actually a chance of playing VFL.

Leon and Woody are not! IMHO

each week the players who are on the extended bench always get named in the VFL team... dont read anything into it

Indigenous AFL show hosted by Grant Hansen & Gilbert McAdam with special guests Steven Sziller & Mick Martyn.
Long synopsis: The world's first live Indigenous football show hosted by Grant Hansen and Gilbert McAdam with regular panel members Ronnie Burns, Alan Thorpe and Derek Kickett. Plus roving AFL news reporter, Leila Gurruiwi. Live from Melbourne. Don't miss this week's edition of the marngrook footy show - our two special guests are Steven Sziller and Mick Martyn, both played at 2 clubs and also in grand finals. Martyn of course was a member of the Kangaroos 96 and 99 premiership teams whilst Sziller played in the 97 Grand Final for the Saints.

I usually watch the MFS each week in preference to TFS. The grammar leaves a lot to be desired but it is generally very entertaining with lots of great footy clips, past and present. There was a great feature on Nicky Winmar this week. One of my all time favourite opposition players to watch.

The show celebrates indigineous talent; shows the teams for each week, with indigineous players names highlighted and analyses each game for the week.

They love Leon, particularly Allan Thorpe, and showed some of Leon's great moments.Worth watching the show just for that.

To summarize what Leon said
- Had bad GFs in 2002 and 2003 and is grateful MM kept the faith with him.
- Was originally a Bombers supporter until his brother began following them, then followed the Kangaroos for a while but eventually was more interested in watching great players. He named Buckley, Matera, Long amongst his heroes.
-Praised Maxwell as a captain and stated that early criticism was a lot to do with the fact that Buckley was always going to be a hard act to follow
- Disagreed with Gilbert McAdam on Collingwood's game plan in the finals. McAdam has been saying for several weeks that he believes our 'around the boundary' style will be exposed in the finals
-Is proud that he is seen as an indigineous role model and the fact that he has broken down racial barriers at Collingwood

Is Leon the best ever Collingwood player to watch??? My apologies to Daics,Allan Didak, Darren Millane, Phil Carman, Gavin Brown, Nathan Buckley and John Greening, but I'm going to vote 'yes'.

^^^^^^ :thumbsu:

To add ....

- Talked about his mid-field role. Was his aim to play AFL mid-field and happy to be able to do it. Puts it down to hard work and extra training sessions.
- The question was asked of how MM allows him to play a natural game and kick incredible goals but Leon said anything to do with team success is what he is about. Loves doing defensive tackles or anything to help set up a goal.
- Stayed with Alan Thorpe when he first came over and greatly appreciated the help Al did.
- He is cousin to Derek Kickett.
- Toughest opponents = Luke Power and Mark Johnson

- Was asked who will take over from Brad Scott and said he thought Blake Caracella would take the mid-field role over (for the rest of the year). Said Brad will be a great coach and wished him success.
