Rojik of the Arctic
Team Captain
Let me know if you want me to teach you anything else about footy.
I can see what you are saying and I understand the point you are trying to make but your head is shoved so far up your arse it is making it hard for you to see the real world.
1/ He is a rare talent as any one who watched his games last year would agree but he is raw in many aspects and those things will take time to figure and work out.
2/ He is part of a forward line that is - to say it nicely - is dysfunctional. We are going to try many players in that role this year and finding out if Jurrah can or cannot do it is one of the reasons we play the NAB or pre-season games. Would you think that a good coach should wait until the premiership point games to see if it works?
3/ What is wrong with supporters talking up a player from their own team? We all do it because the players from our own teams mean more to us than any others. I'd be hard pressed to name 5 of your players and that is the way I like it because I just don't care about your mob. On the other hand I can name our list (rookies included) and all the numbers they wear. Nothing wrong with being one-eyed.
4/ You would kiss the arse of your recruiting people if he somehow ended up at Nth.
5/ Again it is pre-season. Just like McLean it is meaningless until round 4 or 5 to judge a player. Some players just don't turn it on unless the big pressure is on them, some are told to try an alien game style at this time of year and some might just find that it ****ing hurts to try and mark a ball with a broken finger. You also need to keep in mind that the comp runs to a whole set of different rules from the real game.
Anyway what I am trying to say is that you need to keep it in perspective. After all you beat the reigning premiers one week and lost to Freo the next but to read anything into that would be as silly as worrying about anything else at this time of year.
