Hi all.

This is a question for some of the older posters or anyone into older music. I need some help with some old 70's song lyrics for a trivia question, have to get the name of the song, and the artist from the clue of a few lyrics from a song. Bear in mind these are all reasonably popular songs from the 70's.

1. It took time for me to know, what you tried not to show.

2. I don't need to spend my money, but still do.

3. Well, your momma don't know where your sister don't go.

4. I've got to find out if you're feeling it too,
it's so hard to tell so here's what I do.

5. Running your fingers throuh my hair, but saying you care no more.

6. You're the one that takes me higher, oh baby you set my heart on fire.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Number 3 is Devil Gate Drive by Suzi Quatro.

No 1 also has the lyrics

Baby, I'd love you to love me, the way that it should be, if you'd only let it be.
Its a slow song with a strong acoustic sound

#4 is I was made for dancing by Leif Garrett

#6 is Lay your love on me by Racey

(I'm reliving the horror of my school disco here you realise :p )

#1 is Baby I love you to want me by Lobo (also responsible for that other shocker "me and you and a dog named boo")

Thanks guys, legends. :thumbsu: Hey LL, I'm reliving some horror stories here too, trying to recall some of them. :D

I forgot to include one lyric in my original post,

'She hangs on to me, and she really goes woo' (or woah, or something like that  )

"See My Baby Jive" by Wizzard. The lead singer was a guy called Roy Wood who had just left the recently formed Electric Light Orchestra to play more "poppy" sounding songs. He was also in The Move (in the 60's).
Yes I am a bit of a music nerd. :D

:thumbsu:

Thanks again, old son. How do you find them, or did you do it off the top of your head? (which is really tragic if you do, by the way :p :D ) I'd love to find a website somewhere where someone can find those long forgotten lyrics easily.

The sad thing is I get them off the top of my head. In a nutshell I use to collect and deal in second hand records, so even the stuff I don't like I have a ludicrous knowledge of.If only I could make money from it! :p
My wife loves it. Whenever we are watching a movie or show on TV and they play a song she asks me who it is and 9/10 times I can tell her.
