I guess he will have to train today (or tomorrow if that is the main session) to show he has recovered, if he doesn’t train it will be an extra week.

Good news I guess, but now we wait and see how he pulls up after a training run.

McLeod return on the cards

Andrew McLeod rejoined the Crows' main training session on Wednesday, just 16 days after foot surgery.

The appearance will increase speculation McLeod, who has missed the past two games after having a bursa removed from his left foot, could be ready to play against Fremantle on Sunday.

He started running on Monday and moved without any obvious inconvenience during Wednesday's closed session at AAMI Stadium.

Crows football operations general manager John Reid said the club had targeted the round-20 clash with the Western Bulldogs for McLeod's return.

"But if he gets through training and gets the all-clear medically, he might be a chance this weekend," Reid said.

Rhett Biglands (tight hamstring) and Trent Hentschel (sore back) did not train yesterday and will need to prove their fitness on Saturday.

But Chris Knights, who had been troubled by a quad strain, did train and should play for Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL this Saturday.

Adelaide needs to find three replacements for suspended captain Mark Ricciuto, and hamstring victims Brett Burton and Ben Hart.

Looks like Hentschel might not pull up, Im hopeful Biglands will.

Hentschel's the one we need to play - he can be a matchwinner a la the Collingwood game.

Biglands can be covered by Maric or Meesen.

I am beginning to think if we win this game against Freo with all the injuries and "enforced" rest to Roo, it will be a bloody miracle!
Nothing that can't be covered so far I recon, though biglands was very good last match anyone who comes in will be giving their all to impress.
Bock <-> Hentschell
Maric/Meesen <-> Biglands
Welsh <-> Roo
Torney <-> Hart
McLeod/Skipworth/Random <-> Burton

And if McLeod fields that brings miracles into play obviously :D :thumbsu:

I don't think Biglands will play. I saw him getting some extensive work done on his leg by physio before the game against Collingwood. He obviously made the injury worse by playing against the Pies. I suspect Biglands will be given a rest this week and Maric will take his place.

I am concerned about Hentschel as well. He has a history of back injuries and this latest back complaint is not very good news. Hopefully it loosens up by saturday :(

That could be where the rumours are starting in the west that Freo think that Hudson is a chance to play with the possibility that Biglands would be another 'out' for us. But it would more likely be Maric returning to support Clarke, who did most of the ruckwork in the second half last week anyway.

Maric's efforts were again better than Messen's last week from sanfl reports. (awaits gnashing and wailing from Drummond)

- he doubted he would be ready this week - but almost certain for next week against the Bullies at the MCG....:thumbsu:
I would be gobsmacked if he played this week.

It'll be nice for him to get a practice run on the G though :)

It was just one of those Gold Memeber Toyota sausage sizzles. I was standing up the back trying to make sure I didn't get tomato sauce on my Crows jacket when I turned to notice there was a 2-time Norm Smith medalist standing next to me.....:eek: It would have been rude not to say hi.....:o

Sorry NikkiNoo I missed what reserves team Maric was playing for as Magpies had the bye. He must have done really well as I saw Meesen play and he did well, although he still is 2007 and on IMO. Can you give me Maric's stats please NikkiNoo.

:P :o it has been a long day at work.

But overall Maric has really shown that he has taken more steps forward than Meesen this year and his endeavour when he has gone back to the sanfl has been very good. Meesen had the opportunity to really push for selection this week and it seemed that he didn't play as well as he has been.
