Club Legend
Last year, by admission of the club, players and obviously the fans, geelong were absolutely shithouse. Our forward line looked a long way from being decent, our backline looked really slow and seemed to be ageing badly, our midfielders looked slow, never played on and got absolutely owned by every other team's one in the comp and our ruck options seemed to be running out.
But now, the club has taken its long hard look at itself and realised that what we did was bs and to Bomber's credit we have turned it around majorly. That bloke we got as a fitness guru from adelaide has proved to be an absolute gem (I attribute a fair bit of our success to him).

Our improvements are thus
- We have made an extremely potent forward line. We brought in Hawkins who adds another tall option. Nablett has improved his fitness, gotten smarter with his leads and strength. Mooney has devoted all his time to being a quality CHF and he is going brilliantly (and controlling himself and his anger). This has given us a 3 tall forward line, something that no team in the comp will be able to cope with when he and Nathan develop more. We always had the best small forwards in the comp, but add to that list travis varcoe, whose pressure is brilliant and SJ whose intencity atm has been great.
- We are playing on at all costs and consequently look faster. I attribute this to the fitness guy. Woj, Mackie, Gaj, and even Scarlett really benefit from this. But Lingy's abilty to play on has impressed.
- Our backs just look stronger with the run and we get the ball out of there quickly.
- The pressure to keep your place in the side from the VFL, Byrnes, Prismall, Harley, King and even guys like Owen and rookies like Grima, Davenport and Bedford make the guys in the AFL side go in harder to keep their possies.
- The improvement from Blake, Mackie, Woj, Nablett, Tenace is just fantastic.
- Ling becoming the leagues best tagger again (or maybe behind sewell)
