just watched the replay of last nights game for those people who knocked this liittle mans game should do the same. only player who actullay played four good quaters clearly our best player last night and if he had kicked straight well 30 poss & 3 goals would have been bog early days yet my friends bring on round 1.

I wasn't that dissapointed with Murph really. Everything he did wrong was pretty clearly rectifiable. He got his chances he just didn't finish well, and we all know he can finish well, it's when he starts doing both at the same time that we have a star.

I think its just that a coupe of his missed shots really stuck out because it is getting so frustrating to watch. His 2nd half disposal in particular was really good and he certainly uped his intensity and went in harder. Led the game in contested possesions

Murp was good.......the hardest thing in football is to win the bloody thing and he did that ok.....his skills and decision making will come in time and no doubt the Blues will have a terrific 200 games plus player.

Murph had 30 possesions 10 contested.
Disposal was a bit off at times, but all up did more than most of the others. Same goes for Carazzo for the knockers. 28 touches in a hard pre season game of footy. Stevens 33 touches. 91 touches between them yet some so called supporters are already calling for their heads. Imagine the outcome if we had played without this trio.

I was sitting near the interchange benches nd I could see Murph getting his shoulder rubbed, the one he had injured, didnt look to happy bout it, not sure if this had anythin to do with the way he played or not, but what Kennedy did 2 him wuld hav hurt =[

Given that Judd and Stevens will be tagged before Murphy, you could expect that Murphy to have a fairly good influence over games in 2008. Will certainly not get the best tagger each week like he did last year.

I'm still very excited at the fact that Stevens only has a 50/50 chance of being tagged. Imagine what he could do with no-one breathing down his neck! Infact, while i'm touching that subject, imagine what Judd could do with no-one on him!

Yeah I wouldn't expect him to get 30 touches each week either. Just won't cop the best tagger each week.

No doubt Murph is a gun. But something is not quite right at the moment. Just looks to be lacking confidence when he gets the ball. Almost as if he doesn't know what to do with it.

Perhaps its the change of game plan.

I think some are being a little harsh on Murph.

This preseason is his first full preseason if you think about it. Players first preseason is never what i would consider a full preseason, his 2nd he was restricted some what with his shoulder, and this year he has had a proper full preseason, learning a new game plan, learning from a master player in Judd, putting more muscle mass and stength on and probably right now is just feeling the pinch before season proper.

Remembering in his first year he was struck down by his shoulder, last year was tagged more than anybody else in our team, this year he shuld be free to clear the ball and excel with his disposal.

Murphy's vision and kick (& cross kick) to a lead is seconf to none, and i think this year when he is actuallly allowed to be a developing player we will see the best of him and the knockers will be eating the tuff.
