He has a Point. Not many been coming the last few weeks. Not Many there last night and Start of Game they did not make much noise

You are obviously somebody who is blessed with the gift of youth. Enjoy it, embrace it, live it - it doesn't last forever.

Those of us who have been around the sun a few more times know Mark Maclure from his playing days, when he was a total flog playing for Carlton during a period of fierce rivalry (they beat us in the '79 and '81 GF's ... Sigh :( ).

And so we have precisely zero expectations of any objectivity from him.

He hates us. The sun rises in the east. We hate him. The sun sets in the west. It's the way the world works.

This thread could actually be made about any number of commentators last night.

All we had to listen to all night was the questioning of every free kick we got, praising Bontempelli for 'deliberately' dropping marks and how brave the Bulldogs were for winning with injuries, as if no other club in the competition has them.
 
Must say I developed a bit of a soft spot for him, when he repeatedly showed his abhorrence for Mick Malthouse as coach of Carlton. Happy days, fondly remembered.:)

But the soft spot didnt last long.
 
You could replace Maclure with most of the commentators. A prime example last night was when Treloar had that run along the boundary in the last getting past 3 dogs players which was unbelievable but they said nothing. But Bontempelli drops the ball and they say it did it on purpose. The media shape the way a lot of people see and judge the football. They are happen to go on about how we butcher the ball(which we do so no problem there) but a guy like Dangerfield will be running on his own and butcher it and they don't mention a thing.

History will judge that comment as the moment when AFL commentary hit rock bottom.

Grundy, Treloar, Adams, Moore, Aish, Degoey, Elliott, that is elite young talent. Scharenberg might be able to play too, as can quite a few others.
The guy as no clue.

The Bulldogs have self respect. Eventhough they lose they still have a crack.

Maclure disliking Collingwood is like me disliking Carlton. If either were to change, the universe would collapse upon itself in an instant.

In comparative terms, he's not wrong...crowds are f@#&$% this year. I like the man. Says it how it is. Loves his Blues and isnt afraid to throw shade on their rivals but so what..... We'd do the same.
