Lipinski out with concussion. Shoota out with a hammy.

McStay likely available, and if Schultz and Lipinski hadn't been injured I'd say he should just skip this one and come back after the bye. Melbourne don't seem to use a second ruck whatsoever, but that said, we had been desperate for a Cox replacement.

Mitchell available but would need a blinder against Box Hill tomorrow. Not sure I'd have him in the same side as Long anyway.

I'd go Hayes and McStay for Lipinski and Shoota. But Hayes sub.

Might be unpopular but if McStay is not ready then you have to play Cox. We looked absolutely horrible whenever Cameron wasn’t rucking. We also looked a bit lost without the long target down the long to kick to. Cox halving contests is better than an intercept and/or 3 Pies flying leading to an easy rebound. Frampton is a back. Long is a rover. Membrey is a forward.

Or play the new kid we just drafted. Surely no one wants to see Billy in the ruck ever again after tonight!

OUT: #1 Patrick Lipinski (concussion) , #8 Lachie Schultz (hamstring)
IN: #39 Will Hayes , #5 Tom Mitchell , #37 Oleg Markov
B: #3 Isaac Quaynor , #17 Billy Frampton , #38 Jeremy Howe
HB: #7 Josh Daicos , #30 Darcy Moore , #9 Dan Houston
C: #22 Steele Sidebottom , #10 Scott Pendlebury , #25 Jack Crisp
FOLL: #14 Darcy Cameron , #44 Ned Long , #35 Nick Daicos
HF: #31 Beau McCreery , #41 Brody Mihocek , #33 Lachie Sullivan
FF: #5 Jamie Elliott , #28 Tim Membrey , #23 Bobby Hill
INT: #39 Will Hayes , #6 Tom Mitchell , #16 Ed Allan , #32 Will Hoskin-Elliott
SUB: #37 Oleg Markov

Cox would have to be considered in order to tag team Max Gawn. Hopefully he can give the selectors something to think about with a solid performance against Box Hill tomorrow.

No resting against Melbourne.

We have an extended break, then the bye.

By all reports the Melbourne we'll face will present a new game style than the one we've successfully defeated in recent years so it'll be a different challenge this time.

I'm confident we'll win but if their improvement is real I don't want complacency bringing us undone.

love WHE but the great man is due for a rest just looked a bit gassed tonight

resting the early-mid 20s Daicos boys is crazy we have only been resting guys past 30
N Daicos has been carrying something. Commented a couple of weeks ago. An extended break than the bye is an ideal period to rest up any niggles and have them gone for good so he is cherry ripe for September.
There is no sense burning your prize Ferrari doing burnouts in a parking lot when it's needed to cruise on the race track.
Josh looked gassed tonight needs a freshen up.
Got to think long term

Can't afford to make same mistakes as swans last year.
We're flying at this point of the year refused to reasonably rotate players.
Got to the stage were players like Heeney and McDonald carried injuries into the GF and a number of others were cooked by finals in particular the GF.
You want players jumping out of their skin hungry confident and fresh in September not battered and bruised when they needn't be.
Have the break on the comp now. Need to take advantage
