He only needed to be in the leading runscorers of Sydney Grade Cricket for about 6 seasons before the selectors realized he can play cricket and start giving him a decent run for NSW
and someone like Greg Mail got in in front of him 
Finally he's got his rewards and is putting a great possibly match winnings knock against Queensland at the moment.
He's as good as any opener going around in Australia except for the top class ones such as Hayden, Langer, Maher etc,. And i dont think he is that far of those guys for general class.
Wouldn't be out of his depths playing Test Cricket although he'll never get a chance because he's pushing 30 now and only played 12 first class games. If he was picked about 4 or 5 years ago and KEPT in the team when he should've been he may have entered selectors thoughts of playing test cricket at some stage.
