10 minutes into the game and he's off the ground, he was no doubt a liability out there today. Either take the extra week off to recover or consider retirement, dont take up the bench

Come off it. He still has plenty to offer the side.

This time the club needs to give him a proper rest to get over the hamstring.
He should not have been passed as fit to play today?

Hard to call.

He kept Neitz well in the first quarter.. I think he came back too quick, then Jako was put onto Neitz, something he probably wouldn't have expected, and wasn't prepared for, and Neitz won it on the day.

I must say I was pretty peeved off when he took himself off in the 1st qrt. He shouldn't have come back so early if his hammy was still a worry and I'd be tempted to only play him at home now.

He played well on Neitz for 10 minutes!! Then he went off. Surely the medical staff at the Eagles know how to manage hamstring injuries?? I'd like to think they wouldnt let him play if there was any major concerns, that leads me to believe that his body just cant cope anymore.... either give him a couple of weeks to recover or get him to retire, dont rush him back so he can limp off 10 minutes into the game

I fully agree, he should not of played if his hamy still wasn't 100%.

Agreed with all the below comments. McIntosh shouldn't of played unless he was 100% fit and ready to go. Another tall defender was required to play the full duration of the match, not take up space on the bench.

Will we get Merenda back for next week?

I hope so but i think it might be another 2 weeks away ??

Im a big fan of Mark Merenda and feel that even though he doesnt have the build of Embley or Williams his presence is always felt by opposition defenders

I would not wipe Macca off so early in the season, but iIdo think at the end of the year he should hang up his boots. Too many times of late injuries have caused some Eagles to retire. Kemp, McKenna are recent along with Mainy a couple of years back I think????

It would be nice to see Macca and mayhaps Matera play out to the end of the season and retire........

McIntosh should have retired last year. The ability may still be there but his hammies go at the drop of a hat. For those saying he held Neitz you have got to be joking. He went off after 10 minutes, the only part of the game which we dominated. The only time it went down to a McIntosh/Neitz contest Neitz had a decent lead but got a shocker of a kick which McIntosh was lucky enough to pick up. Whats more disturbing is the fact I didnt see him do anything to warrant pulling a hammy. If he has that much trouble it's time to retire.

Said this in the disappointed thread but thought it was more appropriate here....

McIntosh is all class and if he fit and healthy every game i think we would make the 8 no question. He consistently thrashes the oppositions best forward but he is never healthy enough to do it consistently. Neitz didnt have one disposal and im not even sure he got a hand on th ball in the first quarter. Second quarter, no Milli....6 goals. He is all class and i just wish he could get healthy. Will be sorely missed against Brisbane.

Thats my opinion on McIntosh. If only he was healthy.....:( Lets hope he will be back in 2 weeks, we all know this is his last season.
