sounds like another dodgy op or rehab done RFC. no better place to ruin a career than RFC - if the shithouse coaches, losing culture, lack of leadership, lack of confidence, and supporter hostility and aggression doesn't get you - the docs and rehabs will

Geez, it'll be difficult for him to make a career now.
Depends on how successful the operation is.He,s been carrying the injury for almost 12mnths.If its a success he has the talent and time to make it at the top level.

No MT, he is right. I am &^$&ing livid about this. He has had this hip problem for over 12 months and they decide to operate on it now?

Shocking, shocking medical management.

Shouldn't we be doing absolutely everything in our power to have our most talented players on the park.

I vaguely remember a couple of years ago, there were rumours that Danny was unhappy at the club because they were basically accusing him of imagining this hip problem that he had and telling him to just train harder.

NOW HE IS HAVING THE &^%$ING THING OPERATED ON !!!!

No wonder he wanted to leave.

I agree with this, seems we have been caught out 2 or 3 times with major injuries needing surgery and the problem not being addressed straight away. Maybe we need to review our medical staff/club doctor.

i'd want to leave too if i just worked my arse off for an entire pre-season - and then they decide to operate on me a week before round 1.

richmonds management of injuries - useless

Cogs
Rodan
Brown
Meyer

all players that come to mind that we have ruined or nearly ruined because of terrible mis-management of injuries.

feel free to add some names to this list if you recall them

Can we add Tony Free to that list?

Howat?

Yeah he works hard and does all the right things but I dont want to watch him run down the wing and turn it over time and time again.

Give Collard a go if we are going to bring someone up.

From what Ive read he could be something.

Tigersman, what matches were you watching? When did he turn the ball over time ang time again?. From what I saw he hardly turned the ball over and his skills seemed better than average ... The knock i have on him is that he applied very limited pressure to the opposition. So no matter how effective he was the opposition was having a great old time going the other way.

I believe fully that you win games more by the pressure you apply than how good your skills are, how athletic, or creative you are etc. The pressure makes up for all that and more. For that reason, and that one alone I don't think he is up to it.

lol no need to be sorry. Just was very abrupt. :)

Yeah Edwards just fitted right in huh, Danny would have to fight hard to get it for himself and he cant in his condition.

The problem why he couldn't get a game was that we have Brown, Delidio, Morton and probably Pettifer that play the same sort of position that he does

Hall is perhaps head of the list.

He carried the same chronic hip injury from 2003 until his premature retirement in what should have been his prime playing years.

He played another 52 games after 2003, was brought back from injury early every time, never allowed to rest, and will pay for it the rest of his life.

But hey, at least the Richmond faithful appreciated his efforts...playing injured on the best forwards in the game. I'm sure he still feels the love. :p

You're right Wally. There's no comparing the lesser injury which has kept Meyer from playing football altogether, to the worse injury which Hall played with for three seasons. Meyer's on record as saying his injury is not as bad as what Hall had.

FWIW, I hope Meyer can get back to fitness as I believe there's a role for him, he's a talented kid.
