If Meyer is placed on long term inured with his hip problem who will be elevated from rookie list.

Would be a toss up between Collard and Cartledge in my view. From all reports Collard has the potential to be a very good player, just needs to build his fitness.

Thoughts?

Apologies if this has been covered but I am not up with this. What is Meyer's injury?
Surely if he has to go on the long term injury list he will not make it at the Tigers.
If it does happen though I would elevate Collard. If we need Cartledge it would be as a result of a long term injury to one of our big guys.

a double edged sword.

i'd love Collard to come in but i think he needs a year at the burgs to sort his head out. I mean in a sense of him working hard and getting his fitness up to AFL standard.

I would prefer him to do some hard yards first and not be given a free ride onto the seniors list.

Players like him need to work it out for themselves whether they're in or out. Would rather him do so in the burgs.

I agree with you. I would like to see Collard play 3-5 games at good Coburg before getting a chance to play AFL for Richmond

I'd be shattered if Meyer was put on the LTI list.

"...a lightning quick midfielder with superb skills"

Say it again.

"...a lightning quick midfielder with superb skills"

I'm in NO rush to throw him away!!! Must be given an injury free chance because we need someone who is exactly like Danny in our midfield.

Edit: That is fantastic news tigerfan22!! When would you say Danny might have his body ready by (ballpark number)? After missing so much training I'm imagine he'd need several weeks at Coburg, but no doubt Terry will push him to the seniors so he can get another contract even if he is underdone.

I appreciate all your info mate :thumbsu:

If he is injured you have to replace like with like...just from a team balance point of view. So collard for me.

Also collard is looking pretty classy in the intra-clubs...seems to be playing and physically looking like a senior player despite only being a 2nd year player on a rookie list.

elevate collard and let him kick bags at the burgers while he continues to work on his stamina. when he's able to rotate into the midfield give him some senior time.

or just let him kicks bags anyway - don't need t o elevate him until the day before he pllays - saves us a few bob as well.

Meyer when fit would be much better value than CC atm, apart from a 9 minute patch in the intra-club match Collard did nothing and shouldn't be promoted until he shows a stronger work ethic.

We already know he has talent, we just need to encourage him to work.

Gutted about Meyer and agree with you BFurs... pointless throwing away Meyer just yet. The kid just hasnt had a clean run at it.

As for elevating someone... l wouldnt elevate anyone until you've seen them play. They're rookies until they either a demand a spot or we hit drastic injurie problems.

You dont elevate rookies just for the sake of it. :thumbsd:

Meyer is a lost cause.

the fact that meyer has gotten much bigger in the chest/arms region shows he's atleast been commited to weights training, it's really the first positive sign I've seen from him attitude wise since he's been at the club.

Could be Jay Schultz/Kel Moore Mk II...

Its all or nothing this year for Danny
