Mick Fanning has just claimed his 2nd surfing world title, clinching it in the last event against fellow Australian Joel Parkinson, who dominated throughout the year but failed to capitalize at the final event at Pipeline.

This is his 2nd world title, after winning in 2007 after a dominant year leading comfortably in the ratings.

I know its surfing but it is very Cat like

If you don't follow surfing then you probably wouldn't understand, but he won his 2 world titles in 2007 and 2009 in a similar fashion to Cats.

In 2007 he dominated without a standout contender, however in 2009 he won in the last event of the tour against an opponent who dominated all year.
