Just a question for the more football savvy posters in this forum.

Would our second tier midfielders (Masten, Stevens, Swift etc.) have as much impact as Priddis or Kerr if Cox/NN tapped to them each time? Just seems to me 90% of the time the tap would go to Priddis/Kerr and the others don't really had that much of a chance to get the clearance.

Note: I am in no ways discounting Priddis's ground level skills. He is elite at getting the ball from a stoppage.

Let the Ploddus Bashing Begin.

I don't know if they will have equal impact but i believe Masten would have a pretty big impact on games if he spent most of his time in the middle. His handball is very good and creative. Will get his chance one day.

Stevens im hoping will turn into Priddis plus goal kicking. Loves it in close and does some exciting things.

Swift is also pretty creative in close with his hands.

Although, I think having NN and Cox tapping the ball down your throat all the time will make anyone a better player.

I think with a bit of experience and bigger bodies they might. Kerr and Priddis are both exceptionally strong for their size and have the ability to stand up in tackles. This has natural flow on effects as it often affords them the ability to take an extra second to dish a handball to a teammate rather than a panicked possession forward when under pressure.

These guys should be persisted with - Stevens in particular seems to have the build to be a really good inside mid (not convinced on Masten but I think he could be a very good outside player with his tank).

Wasn't in any way trying to start a ploddus flame/debate/bashing thread :(
