OTHER TEAMS???? As if!!
Ok, I hope I'm not sounding to presumptuous but could Micheal J be the midfielder we are looking for?

As it stands he has impecable hand skills, clean ball disposal and amazing football knowledge for his experience.

However he has been playing defence and I reckon that is a waste of his talent. Bring him midfield I say, he will probably struggle for a while but eventually he will become the champion he is destined to become........

Am I dreaming too much or do I see much padawan learner?????

You have a guy more than competantly playing one fo the most diffucult positions to fill, early in his career. Moving him IMO would be absolute lunacy, he would at best be a good midfielder - he has the potential to be a champion defender. Good midfielders are not hard to find, champion defenders are.

What he said

Well - CC has already suggested that they will look to play Johnson, Mundy and Drum in the midfield. Mind you this is coming from a guy that said he would play Farmer in the midfield, Croad and Woods on wings, played Pav in the midfield for a year, etc.. - I think it says more about the qualities he wants to put into the midfield rather than whether the guys are good enough to play there.

Personally, I would have thought leaving Johnson and Mundy in the backline would be the right thing to do. One of the reasons we won so many games this year was due to their rebound from defence. Johnson is good as a rebounding CHB in the mould of Chad Cornes and gets to make runs through the midfield enough as part of this position. And Mundy is what Aussie Jones was for St Kilda a couple of years ago, or Guy MacKenna for the eagles in their heyday - it is a needed type of player in the modern era where fast accurate ball movement is all important.

I do think Drum should be continued to be played and developed as a HFF - he isn't needed in defence and his excellent skills and burst speed are more aptly used in attack. If he develops the endurance then he could possibly move to the centre in later years - ATM though he doesn't have the endurance.
