How is there no thread for this game.
Amazing game and I’ve only had a switch for a month but am able to smash out the hours on this.
Monsters are cool to look at and fight.
Plenty of armour and weapons to upgrade.
Haven’t played with others yet but single player rocks.

Downloading this on PC after watching a few streams.

I’ve never played a Monster Hunter game but it looks fun, apparently the most accessible one as well.

Monster Hunter is one of my favourite franchises!

I will warn you though. Its combat is addictive.
If you're like me you'll have a hard time going back to Dark Souls because it's so simplistic in comparison .

My tip is: Learning your weapon is more important than learning the monsters you will be fighting.
There are 14 weapons. You're extremely unlikely to find the one that suits you best on your first try. I've put in over 300 hours and only now can I tell you which weapon is my favourite (Charge Blade fyi).

Also don't be afraid of playing with others. You're unlikely to fail any missions until you get to the midgame and by then you'll probably have a handle on the combat. The co-op in Monster Hunter Rise is very accessible.

I’m enjoying it so far, just finished the level 2 village missions. Using the long sword to start and although slow it feels pretty good.

Gameplay is very chill, accept a quest and fight a monster rinse and repeat. Nice change of pace.

Another tip is: don't feel compelled to craft every weapon or piece of armor. You can get by most of the game upgrading one or two armor sets to make sure their defense keeps up with the content you're doing.

In the endgame you'll be more interested in armor skills (like Attack Boost, Critical Boost, etc) than defense anyway.
