I know there's a couple of threads about these guys.

I thought they were terrific last night, showing courage and heart the entire game.

Moore was strong against the monster that is Brown, making great spoils and taking strong marks.

McGuane, half the size of Bradshaw but with better mobility did a good job keeping him to three goals, and was gutsy every time the ball came his way.

Thursfield seemed to be eveywhere the ball was when it came in and was tireless in his pursuit.

Are these three the spine of our backline for the next ten years? If that's the case then I think we're in for an exciting patch.

the third quarter was aweful and it started at the back. they can be diabolical at times with poor disposal and hospital passes. need to improve drastically instead of being a time bomb waiting to have brain fade.

Maybe you would prefer we re-instate Gaspar Krusty ?
I think they're starting to attain the quality of when 1 fails the other 2 step up and drag the 3rd with them.
And still with Rance to develop and Sarge taking a Cameo role.
Nice things are happening to the culture at Punt Rd IMO.:thumbsu:

How is Rance developing? If he lives up to the wraps on him pre-draft then our backline will look extremely solid if you add him to Moore, Thursfield and McGuane.

Also, next year we cant forget the possibility of Polly coming back.
OMG , depth at TigerLand !!

Been unheralded all year & In my mind the cornerstone to our revitalised form. a combination of talent & steel are not qualities that tiger defenders have ever had at one time, always been one or the other...These three defenders all love a contest and have a fair dose of ability to launch attacks. The opposition can keep underrating them at their peril:eek:

McGuane was great last night, Thursty wasn't up to dealing with Bradshaw last night and thankfully he was there to come in and take the role!

Moore is most improved at tigerland, Mcguane had a good game and Thursty was good at plugging the holes. I like their love for the contest but my main gripe with Mcguane is his field kicking

Moore has got to be a certainty for most improved. He has done big jobs all year. Franklin, Brown, Fev (i think). Can't remember him getting beaten. He is a modern backman (in the way he can play talls/smalls) and has old fashioned G&D.

The development of the backline is nothing short of exciting.

moore has really turned it around this year. he is the complete package as a backman, i thought he would be good as a third tall/rebounder but he has proven he can take them all on.
