Thought i would do a bit of a review of my latest purchase "Guns, Babes, Lemonade" by Spepparton boy Muscles.
I initially got hooked on his first single One Inch Badge Pin and more recently the ever-so-catchy "Sweaty/Ice-Cream". After seing him at Parklife i was greatly anticipating his debut album. After listening to these tracks i knew that Muscles vocal range was limited. The album starts off with Sweaty and the catchy chorus "Peace, Love, Ecstacy, Unity, Respect." The next 6 songs are pretty much the same and by the time "The Lake" rolls around i am just about ready to chuck the cd out the window. However a change comes across with my favourite track on the album "Lauren From Glebe". With a steady beat and catchy lyrics sung within Muscles vocal range the song saves the album. The remainder of the CD is also quite good with other highlights being Futurekidz, Hey Muscles I Love You and Marshmallow.
All in all the album was not all i had hoped for but was still a solid first up production none the less. Probably give it 3 stars and would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed Ice Cream or Sweaty.
