My watch strap has broken, and now my wrist feels extremely naked.. the strap has been gradually breaking for a while now, and tonight it finally snapped..

So my wrist is left feeling extremely naked.. when I didnt have a watch, my wrist was fine, but since I got this watch (in year 4 or 5, cannot remember clearly) I have warn it all the time accept swimming & showers.. admittedly it took a bit of getting used to - wearing a watch, but it became part of me, and now I dont feel right without it on..

Oh little Watch Strap.. why did you have to break?

*Second watch strap this watch has seen, the first one had a silver bracket thing, the one that broke tonight had a black bracket thing, which I got used to..

:(:( And tommorow's a public holiday ARGH..

Does anyone else feel bare without there watch?
How the hell am I meant to live without my watch on.. it served the purpose of time telling and amusement (the watch strap was to big for my wrist, so when bored at school I was able to twist it around my wrist.. hehehee)

Yep, I know EXACTLY what you mean. I barely take mine off and as a result, I have a huge watch tan.

On my brother's wedding photo's I am a bridesmaid and my watch tan is very evident. It's kinda embarassing really.

i wore my watch for ages, years and then the battery ran out.

i took it off and asked my mum to get me a new battery. she didn't. So over the summer holidays i got rid of my watch tan and slowly got used to no watch.

Now i feel freeer...not always worrying about the time! i don't want a new battery anymore

I know how you feel tashi. I haven't forgotten my watch for a while, but I cannot handle it when I'm not wearing it.

Damn watch nakedness - it's a killer.

Mine only took about a week to even out, and I have got used to not having the watch on so I didn't bother replacing the broken band.

I also used to wear a cap & sunnies a lot, and it used to leave some pretty obvious tan lines. The cap lines are much worse than watch lines.

One more reason to keenly await the cooler weather...

It's funny, I don't look at my watch much when I wear it, but if I don't I look at my wrist about 100 times a day.

I work in front of a computer most of the day (with the time on it), and still always grab my mobile phone out of my pocket to check the time. I even used to do this before I stopped wearing a watch.

The bad thing is, I'm one of those people that always needs to know the time. Otherwise I'd stop wearing it. But I hate being dependant on other people - always having to ask what the time is.

I can't wear my watch while playing my hockey games, but during training I always have it on and that's why it gets so tanned, because it's so damn sunny when I train.

I used to be a bit like that.. then when I was about 18, I just took it off one day (before I would have it on 24/7, through showers and everything.. only took it off something like 2-3 times a YEAR!) and didn't bother putting it back. felt a bit weird at first but then got used to it. Nowadays, I'll have the watch on if I'm out of the house, but I'll take it off and put it on the table along with my wallet, keys etc as soon as I get home.

:D LOL X 10.

That's exactly what I was thinking. When you first lose or break your watch, you get these little flashy camera like images of your wrist about 15 times. Each one accompanied by a mental - D-oh!.

I lost mine and realized I didn't need. Got clocks at work. Got a clock in my car, got clocks at home. The nazis at work force me to carry a pager. Pager has a clock. I found my watch. Put it on, and it felt uncomfortable. Gave it away. Don't miss it.

Peace,

I put my watch somewhere clever a few months ago and haven't bothered looking for it since. I don't miss it - its also meant that I don't have the annoying no-tan line on my wrist.

I always use my mobile to check the time as well if I'm out. I don't like wearing watches as I tend to get rashes from the metal against my skin. I'm not allergic to gold but I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a watch.

My watch strap broke, and lucky the next day they had a market stall day at uni, of which there was this chinese guy who had a watch stand. Therefore during the time i had it off from the time the guy put a new strap on, i did feel very naked indeed. I misplaced my wallet once and i felt just as naked. Luckily a mate picked it up too. A mobile would probably be another thing to make people feel naked if they lost it, especially since it's so common nowadays.

Atleast with the title of the thread, you were always going to get alot of ppl. opening it:D Must admit i was a little curious.

Wouldn't have worn one for more than a day or two in my life. I find them uncomfortable and annoying. No need for them nowdays with the time on the mobile phone.

What about when you go swimming? Haven't heard of any waterproof mobiles yet.

Havnt or had the need for a watch ever. When they were giving to me i used to lose them.

I am good at predicting what time it is. And I am never late.

I dont use alarms in the morning also. I tell myself before I crash what time I need to get up and presto i am up at that time.

Oh well these things do happen.
I had a flat battery in my watch last week so I had to wait until the monday to go and buy a battery.

I suggest that you get yourself a new watchband.

Hehe, I know what you mean. Although I haven't worn a watch in over a year now (the band broke and I never got around to getting a new one), when it first broke, I always felt rather bare. I'd always be looking down at my wrist to see the time, and getting pi$$ed off that it was never there. Took me awhile, but I gradually got used to not wearing one. And it was amazing how fast my watch tan faded! Still, I'm getting another watch very soon (part of my bday present), so I'd better get used to it again! :)
