NAT settings.

I have no knownledge of how to use a computers settings and what not absoulte drop kick when it comes to changing settings plus the fact I am paranoid I will ruin the net for my mum and dad. But how the hell do you change these settings. whenever i play online it lags and skips and freezes i know its the nat factor. ask a few people and all said nat thing. so how do i change it it is killing me ;-( help me

Test your connection through your PS3 first (Network Settings). If it's NAT Type 3 then there's a connection problem.

Try restarting modem/setting up connection through PS3 again.

Login to your modem (each one is different, google your modem model if you don't know how), some have a NAT setting which you could switch and yours may be set on secured.

I use Xbox not Ps3 can I do it the same way?

Looking at a wall of text is confronting but it's all pretty simple. Simple case of following each step and doing it all exactly as it says

If your with telstra and running a thompson router i suggest you buy another router fir starters because its a piece of shit, i had nothing but trouble with mine no matter what step by step guide i followed..
