The shortest indefinite suspension in the history of football and the man who brought us Richard Tambling.

Very good footballer, but would it be safe to say his name probably won't warm the hearts of Crows fans?

Was a dynamic, hard running CHB rarely beaten in a contest when at his best for us.
Who knows what could have happened in 2012 if he had stayed. We wasted the pick but no hard feelings towards Bocky, clearly a great move for him given he's now broken down without playing more than a handful of games in the last 3 years.

Good on ya Bocky. Thought he'd run his race with us anyway when he left, so a good move for him - I have never put him in the same bucket as some of our more recent defectors. Still remember how good he was between 2005-2008, especially his clutch set shot goals from impossible angles in the 2006 PF to give us a sniff. He was definitely one of our best players in that period.

Wow, you guys are being a bit harsh on him, personal issues aside.

Bock was an outstanding CHB for us and one of the few in the comp who could keep Buddy quiet during his reign of terror in 2008. Him and Truck created as solid a defence that any team could ever hope for and it sucks for him that his career was cut short by injury.

If he stayed at the crows the fans would give him a good send off, and he'd be forever loved by the club. He only played 20 odd games with Gold Coast, so I doubt he would have made a huge impact there in terms of his legacy. He's stuck in no mans land a bit now.

Money aside and with hindsight, would it be fair to say he made the wrong decision to leave the crows?

Congrats to Bock on a great career.

Was over on the GC board and they said he played 27 games for the Suns in his time there. This worked out to costing them roughly $100 000 per game. Just goes to show how much injuries can cost a side. I'd be spewing. We all know how good a player he was when fit.

i'd ask you to try and refuse $2 million when your entering the twilight of your career

there is no such thing as loyalty anymore

Yep, you may love the place you work at but if someone came up and offered you double to work somewhere else and that somewhere else was situated on the Gold Coast, it'd be real hard to say no. Particuarly if your mum was in the papers every week for a drug trafficking trial, make the whole deal easier

When we look at his time here , everyone seems happy to sweep his conduct under the carpet. His off field behaviour was appalling, he was a poor role model and should have been shown the door. The club was weak in handling him, retaining him and providing him with " counselling" then he repaid them by walking for $. Says it all.

Like I said - meh

Tex disagrees.
let me rephrase that

from a club point of view, it's very rare to see loyalty from a club to a player. football generally is a brutal business

Went from plodder forward to star centre half back. For mine, he was an excellent running / link-up defender, and used the ball well off half back, but also shut down some of the best centre half forwards. All Australian and Club Champion. We shouldn't forget that.
