Been out for a while. Did a search, couldn't find a thread anywhere.

Claims of "new" Hendrix material being "uncovered" are, 99 percent of the time, commercial spin. Everything in the vaults has been catalogued and chronicled. The interesting stuff is mainly jam snippets; precious little is complete, in the sense that Hendrix would've considered it finished.

However Hendrix's posthumous producer John McDermott hinted recently that he has possession of the fabled Miami Pop '68 video footage, long thought to have perished in a fire at Warner Bros. Now that would be a find.

This is what I was talking about. Well, kind of. Not the Miami footage (shot by ABC), but high quality nonetheless, with Hendrix at the top of his game. Plus an accompanying CD of both Miami sets. Audio quality promises to be excellent, going by the soundboard bootleg in circulation from the afternoon show. Plus other assorted goodies which may or may not live up to their potential, including Randall's Island and Fehmarn footage. November 5, quite exciting...
