I actually picked it up today

Hate ice hockey as a sport, but love ice hockey games. Same as tennis.

I'll post first impressions tonight after I give it a try.

all indications seem to show that nhl 08 is a better game

and from previews nhl 09 is set to be even better

(nhl 08 won many sports game of the year awards last year so if you can find that it might be worth the extra $$$)
