Nick Dal Santo

i think were better off keeping him for a year and let him play a good 10 games in the VFL. ground him alot more. keep him as the second option.

hit the draft hard for a quick midfielder and blood them asap. give the younger players more game time.

then if dal santo is still worth a game give another chance and if he works he works. if he doesnt trade him to GC17.

I am starting to think that Dal will never be the AAA player we all wanted and expected.
While he has very good skills, his ability under pressure limits his effectiveness.

He will never beat the heavy tag. If he was in a team like the Cats he would be fine because there is so much talent around you cannot put your best tag on everyone. But for the Saints where the rest of the midfield includeds McQualter and Eddy, we need someone who can hold their own.
In short Nick Dal Santo needs a strong team around him.

Possibly true.

Quite a few so called experts have said exactly the same thing about Kerr this year now that Cousins and Judd have left West Coast...

We should wait until next year to trade for any picks.. The Gold Coast will be hunting for ready made players and we may be able to put kosi and dal up for a couple or first rounders or a first and second round. We will get F all for them this year.

Or Essendon can give us pick 5 for him right now anything less than that and i would wait, keep them in the vfl and bring them in when we play hacks like carlton or essendon so they look good and increase trade value.

Would definately give up Collingwoods 11th pick for him. Will add much needed class to our midfield!

Chuck in Dawes or Anthony or Thomas or Pendlebury and your on :)

By the way how much time do you waste trying to remember your user name each time you log into Big Footy? :D

I would trade Dal now why we can get something. He just doesnt put in enough, doesnt chase. He has so much ability but is just comfortable in his position.

Now the one big dissapointment is Kosi. For his skill and "potential" he produces nothing. I hope we go to the Eagles and offer Kosi and a draft pick (any that the eagles will take) and get Kerr. We get pace and the eagles get a tall forward

I dont know what this is all about. Dal Santo is ALWAYS the punching bag when St Kilda lose. Why give away a very talented and classy outside player, when we've got Hayes and Ball and Armitage next year to feed the ball out to him? He's had a pretty shit year, but he'll be more disappointed than anyone. Give him a chance, he'll work his arse off during the preseason and come out better next year. This is the first year where he's had the attention he's gotten from other clubs, and where he's actually required to put on some defensive pressure. He's taken the criticism to heart and he's been a lot better in that area in the past few weeks. He can't go from outside offensive runner to outside offensive runner plus harraser plus in and under in half a season. That's not realistic. Under GT he wasn't required to do that and now he's improving in that part of his game.

Anyway, what are our chances of getting the same amount we give away for Dal Santo? He takes away the best tagger and makes it lots easier for Joey and Hayes. They'd have 5-10 more possies every game without a team's #1 tagger following them around. We also don't see how much physical harrassment he's put under off the ball, he's a marked man. Put that pressure onto another one of our mids and see he goes. You could say Gary Ablett or Chris Judd gets the same attention, except they still play very well, but he doesn't get the protection the two above receive. Keep the bloke, address him on his fitness or mindset againset taggers and also his midfield mates to look out for him like teh Geelong boys do for Ablett. He'll have a much better season next year. Dal Santo when he's winning the ball is one of the premier outside players of the competition.

HAHA its easy. Ben Reid is number 20, Scott Pendlebury is 10 and Dale Thomas is 13. My 3 fav players.

Not sure if Collingwood will be willing to offer any of those guys. Maybe to get the deal over the line chuck in their 3rd round pick.

HAHAHHA....NO CHANCE!!

However I would be happy to pick up Dal, but only for say Rhyce Shaw and our 3rd round pick. I think he'll stay though..

I think you would find that if you asked Thomas or Pendlebury what we ask of Nick Dal Santo ( to wear the hardest opposition tag ) and you would find they are no better.
Dal Santo is always tagged heavily because of the damage he can do if left unchecked.
What we need is others who can inflict similar damage. You cannot tag everyone out of the game.
The grass is always greener on the other side.
