It has clearly been a topic of much debate in the Dawes household.
"Look, a lot of it comes from him," said Nick Dawes when asked who instilled such traits.
"If you ask his mother (Jenny), she would say, 'Go for the money, you are only in it once'.
"But he asked me what my view was, and I said I like the loyalty. I said I think that there are other benefits in the longer term about being associated with one club your whole career, so there is that, too. That might have helped swing him."
