Fuggin Baker. If he just played within the rules it wouldn't have happened.
It isn't his fault. It's the ********ing league's fault at not fixing this problem.

Cousins, Cox, Fletcher and Wirrpunda would have to be ahead of him in the voting anyway.

Back to back West Coast Brownlows?

I think that pretty much injury/reports are the only things that could stop Cousins from walking away with a long overdue chaz- he's had a phenomenal season so far, and going 8-0 rather helps his brownlow chances just because there are more votes to dole out.

The biggest problem is if other players take votes away from him... lots of our players would have strong claims to brownlow votes this year.

Don't forget that Pavlich has probably polled well in games and players in teams that are travelling okay often take alion share of the votes in comparison to Fletch, Wirra ,Coxy Cous, Juddy in a couiple of earlier games, etc taking votes of each other.

I wonder if the Umps will actually give votes to Cousins and Gardiner despite all the bad press in the media, well whatever Cousins certainly deserves to be up there, Would he be leading WCE's B&F at this stage of the season ?

i personally think he would be. Cuz, Cox, Fletch and Wirra would be my bet for the top 4 in the B&F so far, and in that order.

EDIT: actually, because of the way the eagle's B&F works, Cox might be leading it at this stage because he's the only player out of those 4 that hasn't missed a game.

True, but I think Brisbane proved that winning plenty of games outweighs people stealing brownlow votes when it comes to players from good sides winning it.

Cousins has about 4 almost certain BOGs so far this year- Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, St Kilda, another game (Bulldogs) where its a tough call between him or Juddy for 3, and a few others (Hawthorn, Freo,) where he may net 1s or 2s.

Given that people like Pavlich and Dal Santo have only played in 4 winning games so far they'd be struggling to be close to Cousins even if they'd been out and out BOGs in all four of their sides wins. ( which they haven't- Pavlich will struggle to poll in rd 1, Dal Santo won't get top votes rd 2 and 3)

I'm tipping that at this stage Cousins had a 4 or 5 vote lead on the field.

I'd say players from sides near middle of ladder are at the biggest advantage in regards to winning brownlows. Their sides win enough games, yet don't have team mates stealing votes off eachother.

Fair enough note, but Baker does it week in, week out and we hear nothing from West Coast supporters. When Jeff Farmer reacted to Baker's tag in Round 2, he was the bad guy, not Baker.
