Well be fore we start hearing how much we improved this year I have to say that we finished below par. Realistically, injuries aside we should have been top 8 and even top 4 in 2004/05. The injuries kept us down near the bottom. This year finishing 8 with the list we had is very poor. Our loss to Essendon cost us the double chance and was reflective of the very weak mental approach our team has to "easy" games. When we are switched on we work hard off the ball and play a great brand of football. Too many times this year we saw lazy football from our runners who wouldn't work hard enough. Our forwards were therefore made to look very bad by the slow, wide delivery that came in from the midfield.

Personally I think we will drop before we go up. I'd keep Tarrant and look to swapping Rocca with some one like Bradshaw. When you look at this team there is one guy playing at the ultimate level and that is Clement. Perhaps we try him up forward. The rest of the team lacks the killer punch to make them feared and competitive with the big sides like WCE and Syndey.

I don't like to be a doom sayer but I can't see a heap of up side in this team unless some more of the kids make really big improvements.

:thumbsu: I may not totally agree with you in regards to the trading, but well said.

We wouldn't get much for Rocca on the trade market. He is IIRC 29 years old. He is also slow and fat. I certainly don't want Daniel Bradshaw who his hitting the twilight of his career.

No chance Clement will go forward. He just has backman instincts and plays the position so well. Can't wait till next year when Clement Mk II (JA) is introduced to the seniors. IMO he will be a player.

Well i just got in from the game. What can i say. We most definately will not go down next year. Your comment on not being compeditive with westcoast and Sydney, well i went to both games this year and we beat them so what sort of comment is that. I agree with most of your other comments but forget about the forwards and slow delivery. They should be able to mark in a contest and then go back and kick the goal. Pebs has been down for the entire second half of the year and Taz ?.

Next year, Daisy, swan, heater, russling and quite a few others are going to turn into stars so i believe we will be heading up the ladder. A problem with a few over 30 year olds and maybe a coach and i assure you a very close look at these over 30s and coach in the next few weeks to determine there future.
