Well we do need to learn how to win in melbourne so we might as well start next week when it doesn't count towards premiership points

Less travel would be the prefered option but we dont travel to Melbourne until round 9 or something, so its good to get a game there now.

This will be invaluable practice for all of the young players.

We'll be sending a good squad and once again will come up against the Blues.

No, we need to learn to win away and playing away will only make us better for our road trips. It's a mental thing and it's time the Club learnt to win on all grounds. I think we over-analyse the travel factor way too much at times.

will be a great experience for the boys. we would have been a much better chance to win at subi (almost montys IMO) but we will learn a hell of alot more playing in melbourne. in fact, we will probly learn the most if we lose (as funny as it sounds).

i was happy either way.

I'd rest every key player I can and send rookies over.

This is a nothing game.Doggies came out of yesterdays game with 7 injured. Do we need that, or the extra travel. I don't think so.

 Or we could lose 7 of them injured in Round 1 instead. Why does everyone pretend that we don't care about the Wizard Cup GF? Sure it might not matter as much as Round 1 of the season... but I would still like to see us do well in it... and it still has a finals type atmosphere about the game. What possible benefit could we get from sending over a team of kids to cop a 100 point loss compared to the confidence we could gain holding up a trophy. Most ridiculous suggestion I have ever seen.

I agree ..send your best side over as you will be facing Carltons best (bar injurys)
don't do a sheedy and send a bunch of kids out to get a demoralising flogging .
this should be an ideal opportunity to introduce some of your younger players to a finals type atmosphere in Melbourne .
good luck and may the best side win ..with nil injurys

Even if we were to send a bunch of kids, I seriously doubt they'd get a demoralising flogging.

Virtually our whole squad is playing outstanding footy at the moment and we keep unearthing players that look as though they're going to be top level performers for a very long time - e.g. Selwood, Graham, Michael Embley etc.

I expect us to go hard irrespective of the team make-up next week.

Pleased to see Pagan working his magic with the Blues - great coach.

Its not a bad thing to have to play in Melbourne, we must travel and learn to win away starting this saturday, if the rest of the season is going to be better than 2004, may the best team win ...with nil injurys. :)
