Agree... I always ordered my song by artists, so not hard to find what you want in your list by alphabetical order.

Doesn't take long to figure out the order and the voice over button can always help.

I like to order random songs by most played and keep albums in their cd play order.

I still have my old Samsung f480i somewhere, got what a piece of shit that was, and yet i fell for the trap of buying Samsung again this time to once again be screwed by the unlubed korean appendage...

Apple recalled my original iPod Nano and gave me a brand new one. :D
Same but like... a year or more ago, got a gen 6 nano, it was working perfectly still up until the point where I sent it in, also had I think a gen 3 nano (the squarish one) for ages, which to my knowledge also still works fine. Also have a shuffle which I use on bike rides.

I still think the most beautiful iPod was the 5G they released in 2005.
I'm rather fond of my gen 6 with the watch band. Failing that my favourite Nano was by far the gen 3 a lot called it awkward and they went back to the candy bar but I found it to be the best by far.

Honestly out of all my purchases, an ipod is one of the few I have never once regretted, all have done everything I asked (short of space issues eventually), survived a beating or two and never given me a single issue... Really makes me wonder why I didn't jump on the iphone bandwagon though in hindsight, instead I was one of the stubborn ones who used to defend android at every chance, despite it's short comings and the issues I had with some of the devices.

This has to be my favourite. Great design, could survive a drop, lasted 3 years in the back of a car seat and worked all the same afterwards.

Have a 80 GB classic that I bought in about 2007. It was having trouble syncing with the computer about a month or so ago, so had to spend $45 to get it fixed. It has also lagged for a few years but I can't complain really. It gets used constantly. I use the smart phone for all my portable internet stuff, no need for an ipod touch. My sister actually spent a fair amount of money on one and her home button broke after about a year and it wasn't gonna be worth the cost to get it fixed.

Is there any other brand of mp3 that actually holds as much as a classic does? I remember having a look recently and not being able to find anything (maybe I have bad research skills)....

Still have an iPod Classic 80GB (5th gen) which I got in 2007, I still use it. The screen is broken so I can't watch videos on it, just listen to music on it. The battery life is great, lasts for hours :hearts:

have a 2005 ipod too. it's still going as well as it did back then, except the battery life isn't quite the same. have it permanantly in the car

also, to you guys with a VY commodore (or similar) with a factory radio, have a look at this, only costs a couple of bucks to do - nice cheap easy way to an ipod working with it

Was it new or 2nd hand? New you'd be able to get it fixed under the ACL - goods have to be fit for purpose, last a reasonable amount of time etc etc.

It was new, think it was just after the warranty ran out.
Should still take it back and make a fuss. Warranties, extended warranties etc are almost always not worth the paper they are written on. Look up a consumers guide to the Australian Consumer Law.

http://www.consumerlaw.gov.au/content/Content.aspx?doc=home.htm

You''l likely find that 12 months is absolutely not a reasonable amount of time for a product of that price and advertised quality to break down and it is not hard to make a complaint and get action.

Quality products and services

All products must be safe, durable, free from defects, fit for purpose, acceptable in appearance, match its description and match any sample or demonstration model.
All services must be delivered with care and skill.
Businesses must honour all guarantees, including express and extended warranties.
Button broken after 12 months is a defect, and the item your sister was given was not fit for purpose - use for a reasonable amount of time. If it was three or four years, yeah you're on your own. 12 months? That's on the supplier no matter what express warranty was included.
