I call him, 'Deer in headlights'. I would prefer us try Jakob Ryan, in that position. Yes, he is athletic, but too often makes poor decisions, skill errors and holds up play from the backline.

Based off this pre season he’s still a fair way ahead of Ryan. If we’re aiming to win I’d expect Markov to be selected out of the two.

I reckon one of the biggest mistakes Mick Malthouse made after 2002/03 was cutting heart and soul players like Rupert Betheras. The chemistry plummeted and it took us a few years to recover.

Leggy is this Collingwood side's vibe hire. He brings such an infectious joy to the entire team. A minimum wage plug-and-play mature body who sparks energy in his teammates both on and off the field is a pretty unique and valuable asset. Fortunately, Fly strikes me as the sort of guy who recognises this value, so I don't think he'll become the second incarnation of poor Rupe.

Also, to top it all off, he's a sneaky decent player at AFL level.
