What artists are frequently found in op shops in your area?

Staple ones here are,

Bardot, you can get the complete albums and video collections at the salvos here

Olivia Newton John, Xanadu

WC McCall, Convoy

OL 55, Take it greasy

Totally ghay boy bands NSynch, Backstreet I cant think of the others as they all look the fuggin same to me

the token 80s rubbish ie Toto, Starship, Uncanny Xmen, Human League, Wa wa Nee

70s disco, Chic, Eruption, Wild Cherry,

and lastly abhorrant rubbish whic is shown on Video Smash its and purchased by prepubscent teenage girls ie
S2S
Scandal'us
New Kids On the Block
Paula Abdul

Artists you will find in Op shops within six months I predict are

Lee Harding
Casy Donovan "for You"
Shannon Noll
Guy Sebastian his complete works

The worst I have ever seen is

Craig Mclaughlin and Check 1-2 inanely titled "Rock the Rock"
This has been in my local op shop for 5 years and even ambitiously priced at 25 cents has failed to sell. Basically its worthless.
I find Craig Mclaughlin's work a indictment of the free market capitalist society. The fact that fossil fuels were used to consume electricity during recording time, and the petro chemicals plastic for the finished product, ie cassette, where consumed for a product which is has no redeeming musical qualities and is ultimately destined to become landfill. IMHO this RUBBISH should have never been made in the first place.
Furthermore I would have Craig Mclaughlin on a community service order planting trees or cleaning up the enviroment as punishment for the finite resources that where consumed in the making of his WORTHLESS product. IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN MADE IN THE FIRST PLACE,

Furthermore I would like to have a independant panel which artists have to seek approval before they record, they would be able to scrutinise soap opera actors who embark on "singing careers",
They would be able to look at this selected criteria

1. Can the artist write their own music
2. Is the "artist" manipulating a certain segment of society that they have to buy this to be a fan (ie prepubscent girls)
3. is the product destined to be landfill within two years

By this critera most of the artists I have listed above would never be heard of ( thank goodness)

Anyway what are some of staples in your local op shops elsewhere?

BTW the best album I have got from the Salvos
is the Fleshtones

Dunno, can't answer your question, I don't go to op shops to look for music. But those are definitely the type of ' artists'you see in the bargain bins at record stores. Basically token and fad music, like ex soap stars, Aussie and other Idols, plastic pop people and so on. Music who's very last intention was to contribute to the musical integrity of mankind. Music designed to make a very quick buck off gullible punters. You rarely see Led Zep, Rush or Opeth in bargain bins for 5 bucks.

One you may see in the coming years is that monstrosity known as the 'Crazy Frog'. And yes, any pop star created by a cheesey TV show. Or just about any manufactured shyte.....

I got a Joe Tex CD at the oppy one day. I'd been searching for it for ages.

Couple of other good pickups were PILs greatest hits, One Foot In The Grave tapes(the TV show) and a heap of Tony Hanconk tapes.
