I saw on the news the other day that the Opals had arrived in China for the Worlds. Does anybody know if they have played a match yet?

Nevermind...this looks like the list.

Penny Taylor
Trish Fallon
Kristi Harrower
Lauren Jackson
Michelle Brogan
Jae Kingi
Allison Tranquilli
Sandy Brondello
Susy Batkovic
Mollie Grima
Jenny Whittle
Laura Summerton

Doesnt look like Veal made the team despite playing in the WNBA, only Jackson, Harrower, Brondello and Taylor of the above play for WNBA teams? Yet Veal gets overlooked?

Veal's injured. Anyway with Kingi and Harrower we already have two very PGs.

Whats wrong with Rachael Sporn?

Rachel Sporn is injured as well. Harrower has replaced her as Captain.

I thought Rachel was out due to just having had a baby boy, could be wrong though

You maybe right, I think I heard something about 5 or 6 months ago.

Yeah Jackson has shin splints i think....real problem.

She still scored 33pts to help the Opals beat France. 78-52 was the final score, I think.

If LJ and Bird can stay together in Seattle and they can get some support...LJ could win championship after championship!! She really could go down as one of the greats of womens basketball before her career is over.

She is absolutely unbelievable. I'm really looking forward to seeing her and Veal play for the Caps in the WNBL this season. I think she will dominate like you wouldn't believe.
The Caps have lost Sandie, Jacinta Hamilton and Wielins (combined for 33pts and 15rbs last season) from last years championship side and have only gained a couple of youngsters and Veal back from injury. Jackson will probably have to average her Grand Final numbers most nights (30pts, 21rbs) for the Caps to go back to back, and the scary thing is, she is capable.

As for the Storm, they showed towards the end of the season, that they are capable of going much further than they did, and if it wasn't for a slow start to the season, may have made the Western Conference finals at least. They need a third scorer to take the pressure off Loz and Larry (Jackson and Bird). Both averaged double figures, but no one else averaged more than 7ppg.

I agree the Storm are in desperate need of a third scorer because if one of them is off on any night, suddenly they struggle to put a winning score on the board. I say package up Bird for Phoenix Mercury's best scorer and Veal :D

Nah Bird is too good, must keep her in Seattle.
