CamSchwab Winning teams need approx 12 quality players who can run through the midfield. Cats had 14/15 on Sat. What will ours look like in 2012?

well i thought id have a crack and say:

grimes, jones, davey, jetta, morton, mckenzie, scully, trengrove, moloney, maric, sylvia, bennel, strauss, blease...

could include aussie, maric, valenti...

Could also include one of the players from pick 11 or 18 this year...depending on who they are and how they go

Scully, Trengrove, Grimes, Morton will be our stars.

Blease, Jetta, Jones, Moloney, will play as our second choice midfielders (ie: easily insertable into our centre square)

Maric, Sylvia, Bate, half forwards whose game pushes them up the ground. Sylvia would play predominantly half forward, comparable to Chapman.

Strauss, Bennell, Buckley (provided he gets fit) running off half back.

We also have the possibility of picking up another mid at 18 this year, plus trade's that may eventuate, but from our list and predicted first 2 picks from this draft, thats how I see our guys being initially positioned.

Good thing is the flexibility we have. Morton can go back or forward, same with grimes, Trengrove too has been said to have the ability to push forward effectively. Moloney started as a half back at the Cats and could go there when the younger guys start developing more. The only guys I see as kind of one dimensional are Jones and Scully* (Why would you want him not in the midfield though?!?), and Bailey sort to rectify Jones this year by giving him defensive jobs.

Very excited.

This thread also highlighting the fact Melb need to take best 2 players available and not look at butcher unless he's there at 11.

#1Scully,
#2Trengove.

#11 take Rohan, Lucas, Jetta or a Tapscott of is still there.
If so, have faith in Newton. if not Panos or Talia

#18 Best available, hopefully Bastinac.

34 Best available.

I reckon our ruck stocks are fairly decent. For the moment, Jamar, Johnson and Martin as a pinch hitter.
In 4 years. Martin, Meesen and Spencer, Zomer doing an ok job for casey.

sorry to put you down mate but that Ruck lineup is ****ing rubbish! we wouldn't have a chance in hell of getting a clearance with those blokes.

Grimes, Scully, Blease, Strauss, Maric, Davey, Sylvia, Jones, Moloney, Morton, Bate, (Trengove)

Buckley, Bennell and Jetta are also possibilities

Jones to become no 1 clearance player supported by Trengove, Scully and Moloney.

Jones to be the big mover in 10, Trengove for rising star. Scully to get sh*tloads of the footy come the 2nd half of the year.

Strauss to play off half back/wing. Blease to play limited game time off a wing /half forward.

Sylvia, Wonna, Jetta, Green and Davey to spend more time forward to be rotated through midfield.

Grimes to be given a run through the midfield but to ultimately settle in defence.

Mcdonald to rotate b/w defence and the midfield along with Cam Bruce depending on thier bodies.

Thats 14

All depending on injuries!

The young blokes in that list need to be the mainstay of that midfield for a long time
