They didnt destroy the culture of the footy club, they won us a flag and should of had two, which was thier primary job. Footy clubs have been wild party scenes for years. The AFL destroyed our club by trying to put us under a microscope they didnt put other clubs under who had all sorts of indescretions going on as well. We were held up as a scapegoat for the AFL to try and appease their sponsors because Dimwitrio was trying to protect his million dollar salary. Cuz was never charged, or tested positive to anything, yet was de-registered from the AFL for a year and our club was subjected to a Royal Commission by a melbourne QC. Essendon on the other hand, had thier captain admit to taking a banned substance which was performance enhancing no less, on national TV, and yet was not banned, nor de-registered, and allowed to keep a Brownlow he won during the period. All of this was part of Dimwitrios push to turn our game into one that appealed to the soccer mums and tryting to turn our league into the Champion of All causes, instead of a footy league where characters and champion athletes battled in a gladatorial type sport for big money and entertainment.
Its now become a bland, uber clean cut environment where one fart near your opponent and your suspended by the MRP for two weeks.

One parent, and it made no difference in the end because all clubs have players getting up to mischief behind closed doors, not to mention some clubs pumping their players full of peptides. Other clubs had players involved in drive by shootings and other things. Would those parents want thier sons going there? If the kid wants to play AFL he will go where he gets drafted.
