Just wondered, has anyone out there done a personality test? (There's one below, if you haven't) I have been reading up a bit on various tests lately and trying a few out. I know often people think they're nonsense, but most of the time I think they're accurate with me.

The results I got from the link below sound a LOT like me. I got INFJ.

ENFJ for me ... am still reading the descriptions but it sounds fairly right. My family have done this previously and both my dad and a brother got 'Thinkers' which is apparently fairly rare.

I reckon these are most useful in workplaces. I could place a bet that the vast majority of people I work with are all maybe ISTJs (accountants). Pretty much a totally different way of seeing the world!

Yeah, this test sort of helps you realise why you don't get along with, or understand, some people ... they just think so differently to yourself.

Cool. I like the INTJ description. It sounds like me without a bit of a feelings hangup.

ENFJ. I don't know how they figured that out - I'm not an extrovert. Or I don't think I am ...

That's what I got . And I agree ... I don't feel I'm too extroverted either. Although in the summary it did say for mine only "slightly extroverted" which is fair enough.

Introverts re Extroverts

Extroverts aren't necessarily party animals. It generally means that they get their batteries by being with other people. Introverts are generally more internal in their thinking, and they recharge privately.

I'm an introvert, and quite a strong one, but people who know me would say I'm reasonably loud. I'm just fairly private and need a lot of time alone and going out (even if it's just for coffee or a drink) tires me. I've got to go out three nights in a row next week, and I'm tired just thinking about it. And I can rarely handle a Friday and Saturday night in the same week. Introversion and shyness are two very different things. You can have shy introverts and extroverts.

I get what you mean there. I love going out but consecutive nights out in a row can get me pretty 'tired' too.

Yep, sounds like me. Which is why I'm surprised I got extrovert. I love being by myself - and other people, but I'm not a party animal, although some would describe me as loud.

Hmm...here's a part on INFJs re looking like extroverts:

"They are, in fact, sometimes mistaken for extroverts because they appear so outgoing and are so genuinely interested in people -- a product of the Feeling function they most readily show to the world. "

That does sound like me actually, a lot. I love people. Doesn't make me extroverted though.

"They have an unusually rich inner life".

That's me too. I always tell people that I'm the most interesting person I know because it's so interesting inside my head!

Borderline extrovert/introvert.

Either Field Marshall (E) / or Mastermind (I).

Sort of....

I hate it when you have to do these Myers-Briggs tests for jobs, because you're often pigeon-holed as a type of person.
