Don't know about anyone else, but the last couple of years the Skyshow has been pretty boring, but I thought tonights was excellent, totally brilliant experience. :D

Is the Perth Skyshow a regular part of Australia day celebrations Mantis? This years Australia day celebrations seem to have been pretty low key in Melbourne at least. Probably because of the devestation of the bushfires happening around the place ....

Yes Bubba, it is an annual event, the last couple of years have been a tad boring, well the skyworks display anyway, the pleasant time sitting on the foreshore drinking & eating with mates is always good. :D

Definitely improved this year, thanks mainly I think to 94.5 being willing to mess around with the format. They got the crappy narration out of the way before the show started, put the building launch sites to good use, and even realised that you can aim the shells in directions other than straight up! Best of all they abandoned their lame attempts to turn the Bell Tower into a laser show. Really showed 92 and 96 how to do the job.

(the little Bali tribute at the start was nice, good choice of music there too)

I was on the south side.

Seen 'em once, seen 'em all. I definitely wasn't there for the fireworks :D

I went, and not having been for a few years, I thought they were very good. I was at King's park, not the best location to see them from but it was still fun.

Mr Eagle, I agree with all of your comments, couldn't of said it better myself.

Another thing was when the planes flew around with that huge australian flag, everyone at King's park clapped and cheered and it made for a great patriotic atmosphere.

Me and some mates went for a walk through King's Park and got friggin lost about 40 minutes before the show. We ended up in some tennis/lawn bowls place but managed to spot a path back to King's.
