Looks like your bait is crappy Jack. No bites yet ;)

no wrong, no bait there, this is the wrong board to put that on, i would of thought a man of your experience would of noticed that. If you read through it, it makes sense. Those 2-3 yrs were critical. In that time tredrea has gone from a leading forward who would kick out of bounds on the full every other week, to a more polished key position forward. Ppl forget how much he has changed. As have you it seems. ;)

oh and in that same time perrie went backwards if anything. This yr he has taken steps forward. Think about it.

there's something to be said for your analysis Jack and i am somewhat in agreement - i think the Ayres era stunted his development for sure

i must also say that the best trades appear to be when a "2nd tier player" reaches the age of 25/26 in good form and can be traded for a late 1st round plus maybe 2nd round pick - much like the Stenglein trade for example

having said that i have always been a fan of Sarge and i think that he has received much more than his share of unwarranted criticism by supporters
- he has been a much better performer than eg Thurstans yet does not receive the same treatment

i wouldnt be surprised if he was in our top 10 voting this year

and i think given his performances he should no longer be Sarge -
he warrants a promotion to Colonel

I would think that he has done evrything asked of him by the coaches this year. Do not be surprised if he is in our top 5.

yes top ten easy, not top five considering ruttens and bassetts yr and the midfielders we have, but i thought he was our best forward this yr. If he could just nail his kicking he could be something even better but you cant be greedy with key forwards. Having said that as you said his top value is now, and if a good deal was on the table i would of said goodbye to him and sent him on his way. It would hurt us short term but history shows trades like that are almost always longterm winners. And ayres just about stunted every 2nd tier player on our list so the colonel was not on his own thats for sure. :thumbsu:
