Phillip Harvey Spector

Just finished a bio on Spector by Mick Jones, Tearing down the wall of sound.

Such a unique person who I hold little sympathy for but an exalted figure when it comes to sounds of the 60s.

Mick Brown.

Mick Jones was good in the Clash but not sure of his talents as a book writer :D

Two of the most iconic images in history IMO. Those kind of images that you can't quite describe what's cool about them, but you just want them on a t-shirt or something.

He was alright on the music side of things too. Did as much to shape the future of music from the '60s onwards as anyone in that era. Remains arguably the greatest example of "producer-as-auteur".

Complete nutter, but intriguing character nonetheless. Definitely count myself as someone who is fascinated and intrigued by the mystique and the madness of Spector.

I thought so much discussion would/should be made here. Spector has produced a lot of things I don't care for and a lot of things I love but whether you mention things like 'wall of sound' and 'inspiration behind everything' the truth is his talent will never be denied.
