Apologies if a thread like this has been done before, but the search function is down and I'd be too lazy to bump it anyway.

Which hands for you never hold up, or you consistently get sucked out by?

In the past fortnight I've had pocket Queens outrun by 55 three times.

Any others?

No such thing as "poison" hands.

Some people will swear that AA is the single worst hand to be dealt.

There are however poison situations and needing to know when to let go of a hand.

In all three situations I was short-stacked and all-in, so I had no choice.

I tried to lay it down post-Showdown - 'derby' if you will - but it wouldn't let me. :thumbsd:

Take my JJ v DoubleA's ATo the other night. The problem wasn't what I had or what he had, or the fact that he called, or even what flopped. Maybe I should have pushed all-in, he would have probably folded, but my re-raise was enough to make him think long and hard. As it was, I was in a good spot, and AAx on the flop is great for me as the likelihood of him flopping trips is low. Yet he did and I was gone.

The main problem was that I was too short-stacked to force a fold pre-flop or get away from the hand post-flop. I had to put my tournament life on the line with JJ against the chip leader. DoubleA had done well to accumulate chips by constantly putting the pressure on, especially on me as I was on his left and was outchipped probably 4:1.

A guy at Crown mucked JJ at showdown on a 10-8-x-x-x board thinking the other guy's 9-7 made a straight, which it didn't.

Proof that JJ never wins. He wasn't happy, Mr OESD check-called 30 on 3rd and 4th streets, then put JJ all-in on the river. Mr JJ called, read the board wrong, mucked and lost a big pot. Other guy opened, said he missed, but JJ was intent on mucking the winner. And no, it wasn't a chip dump.

AA the other night, all-in preflop, hit an ace on the flop then lose to a flush.

Hate Ace king as i never seem to hit on the board.
As well as pocket Kings as i always raise b4 flop and always when i'm called i know the player calling my raise has an ace and always hits on flop which stuffs me up.

KK is my favourite hand, any K really, just had some real good luck with them, won a tournament with K6.

Lost with JJ last night to a mate with AA, just don't have much luck with any high pockets, caught an 8 on a river to make a full house tho with my pocked snowmen so can't complain.

Thought this thread was about bad hands, not good ones. Anyway, I was talking to a mate today about my big hand from Sunday night and realised that my two biggest pots occurred very similarly, both times flopping a set of 8s.

88: Flopped a set, turn completes a flush, all the money goes in on the turn, villain has the flush, river pairs the turn, I win ~$750.

88: Flopped a set, flop is one-suited, all the money goes in on the turn, villain has the flush, river pairs the turn, I win ~$630.

I'm such a donk.

Good to hear that you have won the big pots lately RnB, I was beginning to wonder what was wrong with you.

Had AA first hand at APL one night. Raised to 300 pre flop and got re-raised to 1000 (starting stack of 2000). Went all in and got called. Other guy had KK, and hit a K on the flop. I got nothing.

Not happy.
