I think bigfooty should start to make all polls board polls public. ATM we have a few trolls making polls to statistically justify their opinion on an issue, and using the anonymous feature to claim that they're right. It's kind of annoying not to know who's voting when most votes are just biased opinions. If votes were public, we could cut the wheat from the chaff and figure who the educated posters are voting for. People often use polls as some justification for their own point of view, I think the polls board would be improved if we knew who was voting for the options provided.

It's like having an election where we don't know where the winner received their votes from, stupid. Many people forget to make the poll public, maybe on the poll board, you should have to make the poll anonymous instead, or let voters choose to have their poll anonymous.

Am I being pedantic, or is this a good idea Chief? If it does go ahead, I don't think it really hurts posters in anyway.

i hear what you are saying Rory, but what Richo is requesting wouldn't be too hard to implement I would think.

It would also stop the magic roundabout of debate that happens when a poster continues to point to a manipulated poll result to back up their argument.

Admittedly they are arguing with a very big strawman beside them, but it is hard to rebutt when a false or biased poll is backing them up.

That doesn't work on trolls. They quite rightly say that you're ignoring the facts and are only saying that because they disagree with your view. This way we can spot out that only fellow bridge dwellers have agreed with your point of view, and so the poll is invalid.
