Polo dropped Grrrr

Little surprised they made two changes , Richo was always coming back in , Polo was perhaps a little unlucky but who else would you have dropped. Presume Jackson comes in to tag so has a role to play , not saying Polo couldnt of done it but looks as if they have brought Jackson in for the role , cant really see that anybody else would of been dropped to make way for him.

Yeah stiff to miss perhaps needs to stay in the side if he is to continue at the Tigers.
Perhaps they are making sure he qualifies for VFL finals realise not playing to play VFL but Polo has missed alot of footy and needs to play as many games as possible to put his case forward to stay on the list.
Think its just a match-up thing this week , needs to force his way back into side which isnt a bad thing either.

100 % right.
He is not only too slow but he isn't fit enough.
The match committee find it difficult to place him on the field as the opposition will try and exploit the match up with a quicker player.

Where does he play? He aint going to get any quicker either.

Nah crap you silly sausage yes he does not seem to be fit at the mo,but Polo has got plenty of talent has done some good things as another poster said him going back to the Burgs should make him work harder to break back into the seniors good signs at Richmond FC.:thumbsu:

Nailed it.

Make him work harder. I reckon he can make it, but he needs to punish himself. Getting dropped won't hurt him, hopefully he can see a few demotions as impetus to get the most out of himself.

Disappointed by the decision to drop him. Doesn't make sense to me. jackson is a hack.
Also, what was the go with Connors last week? Was he dropped to make way for Thursty? Disappointed he's not playing if he's not injured.

Has done a hammy apparently... must have been at training because he ran out the Eagles game OK i think.
I reckon more often nowdays, players might have a niggle and really could play, but rather than getting "omitted", we see "hamstring" or "leg" etc...

He's not slow at all. What drugs you on?

Connors injured his hammy in the 4th quarter for Coburg last week.

I agree about how they sometimes drop youngsters due to an "injury".

Hughes (back) If he was in good form he'd play.

I think Polo was on Stanton last week and couldn't go the whole match as a tagger nearly cost us the game with stanton taking that mark in the last qtr and then missing the goal, think it is punishment from the coaching staff to get fitter and be more accountable as a tagger.

It was either stanton or dyson i get all the bummers mixed up as they all look alike to me lol:D:p

polo is a bit stiff to be dropped.

jackson did a play a very good game on s black last year kept him pretty quiet.

Surprisingly black still got 3 votes in that game anway.

If this is the case, then why has Schulz not been dropped. Admittedly he did have quite a good last quarter against the Dons, but that's because he didn't exert ANY energy over the first 3 quarters. Looked very latharged at times...quite undeserving of a spot in the best 22...based on fitness that is!

Stanton is an elite endurance player, his ability to keep running is what makes him so hard to stop. Polo didn't get shown up for pace, it was his aerobic capacity that was letting him down.
Hmmmmmm Polo comes off the bench and still cant keep up with him.The above makes it even more compelling about Polo.s lack of pace.

he's not slow, may not shade Ben Johnson but he doesnt get caught with the pill..bit like Matty Knights in that respect. Might be right on fitness and he is lightly built to that alongside the rest of our Mids make us look anemic:eek:

Sorry , for his size he is slow. Getting caught isn't just about pace it is also about awareness( ask JON!) and smarts.

He struggles to get to all the contests he should.

Polo needs to go back and work his arse off to get back into the senior side. In the games he has played this year I have seen him on a few occassions being left behind by his direct opponent after being side by side at a stoppage. Think he has a spot on the list in the foreseeable future but just needs to work harder.

i thought that was the point I was making ....he's ok in that regard, I accept his stamina may not be up to thew standard, more games at AFL level would help that...he's stiff to be dropped

Jackson's form this year in the seniors has been better than Polo. There is a bunch of players on our list that are looking to hold that taggers role down. At the time Jackson lost his spot it was for injury not form.

Polo probably is a better all round player. However Jackson's attack on the football and dedication to the job at hand is pretty first class. He is also fit. Jackson's aerobic capacity is pretty good. Polo's is obviously not where it should be since his interrupted season/pre season.

Not sure how many times this year Jackson when playing the tagging role has been beaten. Polo can certainly do that job and play better football when he runs off his opponent but his fitness is not there or he just isn't working hard enough right now.

he has all the tools except for the fitness - and at this end of the year - you cant afford to carry blokes who run out of steam with a qtr to go - needs to learn he has to work his guts out to become the fittest he can -

if he can get fit he will be a mainstay of the side :thumbsu:

I agree with you sausage

Going to be a great player ... but was LMAO @ him in the last week as he was going up and down on the spot ... he was absolutely f..ked in the last ten last week , could not even run .

Jackson has obviously been ear-marked for a job this week
