I notice he is back in your team this week. Looking from the outside it doesn't seem that he has gone on this year the way that many Blues were hoping. Has he been injured or is he just not as good as you were hoping. Possible trade bait at the end of the year?

Possible trade bait if we are very lucky. Looked ok last year but in reality he has no footy smarts, slips over at every contest and is as unco as my sister. Has good aerobic capacity but that's about it.

However, he could be trade bait as opposition supporters seem to think he is a good prospect so hopefully opposition teams' hierarchy will think the same. Blues fans are pretty sure that he won't amount to much unfortunately. This weekend is his last chance at the Blues.

Thanks, maybe not the steal of the trading period I though he could be.

He has been injured, and did have a major operation on his heart, so i am loathe to give him up at the end of this season.

From the talk, we will be getting rid of many players, and i dont think Prenda should be on that list.

And for it to be his last chance at the Blues this week, i am sure he knows this, and i really feel that this is too much pressure for the poor kid to be under.

I disagree entirely here Sporny !! He is suffering from playing so well last year and is having the second year blues. He played some really terrific games last year and showed what he is capable of and therefore obviously has more to offer. Could it be a case of not wanting to play for the current coach ??

A player of his age, size and stamina should be persisted with for a bit longer. Besides, I believe he has not been played in the most appropriate position and therefore has got a lot more to offer.

It would be extremely foolish to offload him when we have so much genuine deadwood on the list that should go well ahead of him.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I just think there are too many things in the way stopping him from becoming a good league footballer. When you say 2nd year blues, you may be right to some extent but he's been in the system for four years now. He really cannot kick a footy, especially under pressure and just is really too unco for a ball sport. Throw him in the marathon if ya like, but footy doesn't seem to be his game. I'd be ecstatic if he proved me wrong.

Beaumont

I recall Beaumont playing with no confidence and 'quite a average player' in his initial couple of seasons. Has stepped up a level or two last season. What is the verdict on him? Did he play yesterday?

beauies a champ, and will heap hold our defnece together for the next 5-6 years. can also play midfield or pinch hit up foward if required. is mautring every game, and if our young up and coming defenders really kick on beauie might not have to get their best or second best forwad each week and be able to back himself and set up many foward attacks.

Jeez Gez, how much more maturing do you want from him, he's 26 now and about to turn 27 ?? I think Beaumont has reached his maximum level of improvement and will not get any better than he is now. Don't get me wrong, I reckon he is playing damn good footy for us but he won't give us anymore than what he is now. However, if Prendergast was able to make that quantum leap from bit part player to permanent line-up like Beaumont did then the team will be much better off for the long term.

How about a heart patient swap then? Eagleton was previously valued at more than Montgomery and Powell, is still young, and may yet be a decent footballer.
