Prepaid wireless internet

I am moving out of home, as i have brought a unit and will be only there for bout 7-8 months. I want to purchase prepaid internet (through the USB) for my lap top, from the little research ive done you can get these for around $100 and then theres mulitple options of prepaid plans u get on.

I will only need bout 10-12 hours per month which from what im looking at is bout 1 GB? but wouldn't rule out getting 2GB just to be on the safe side (dnt wanna go over). I am looking for recommendations on what you guys think is the best product out there?
