Prismall

I like dealing with the kangaroos, we've had players like Mooney, McGrath, Pickering over the years and given over players like Thurley (Hack),Colbert (champion but broken and ultimately not worth much) and Scott (servicable but was always a fringe)

Do the Roo's really need to chase a midfeilder? I would have thought with Harris, Wells, Swallow, Harvey and Simpson you don't really need another.

He isnt in your best 22, so no need to overrate him.

Way too late for that. There is way too much man love going on for Brent on this board. It's second only to Healy's love for the recently departed Wil Slade!! And believe me, that was scary.

:D Koula_girl's love for Koulariotis might be up there too!!

There is no-one on North Melbourne's list that would interest the cats. I would also be doing everything possible to keep the Pris at the Cattery, but if he is unhappy and requests a trade then an early first rounder would be the least we would take.

Perhaps a speedy defender or pick I would imagine.

No, hes not in our best 22 and all reports that he would probably get a game in most other clubs.

Yes this board overrates him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he requested a trade come seasons end.

He won't go anywhere. He's right on the fringe of selection - it's just we've had very few injuries to onballers and Selwood has surprised everyone. There's plenty of time for him yet at Geelong.

Let’s see…

Taken with pick 32 in the 2004 draft so we’ve invested 3 seasons in him.

Broken his arm twice so we haven’t been able to see anywhere near as much of him as we would have liked.

Has starred at times in the VFL this season. As an example, he had 25 possessions and 3 goals in a HALF before being taken off as a precautionary emergency for the following day’s AFL match.

In round 3 this season against Melbourne, he had 23 possessions and kicked 3 goals. Looked the real deal.

Only a good run with injuries with our midfielders this year has kept him out.

To some on this board that amounts to being “expendable”. To others, that amounts to having a real prospect on our hands.

There’s no way the club will trade him unless he demands it. If he does, the club will accept nothing less than what they paid for him plus interest (or an equivalent player). Quite possibly though, he’d walk into the PSD because no one would pay what he’s worth to us.

Well, I think he is possible trade bait. Thing about Prismall is we have plenty of players like him - Bartel, Kelly, Corey, Enright - If we wanted to add some different to our side we could get someone very good for Prismall. Players like Byrnes and Gardiner aren't trade bait, can't expect other clubs to pick them up. I would trade him if the offer was good

exactly, add selwood to that list, in fact one could argue it may be selwood keeping prismal from playing.

i dont know why prismal is so revered on this board when he has not proven anything.

In the modern game you can never have enough quality midfielders. What we've see from him thus far is no doubt the tip of the iceburg. I doubt he'd be leaving at seasons end and am sure he'll cement a spot in our top 22 next season - season and a half. (if he can stay injury free)

it is good to have depth but at who's expense will he cement a place in the 22 over the next 1-2 years considering most of our midfield is quite young still?

i would see him as fighting selwood, kelly and probably even ling for a spot. kelly is the only one i would consider him the equal of but kelly is not going anywhere.

From what I've seen of him I would say he is ahead of Tenace, he has good disposal by foot so that's always handy for a mid, I think it would be nice to see him get the oppurtunities Tenace has had to see if he can be something special.

I would trade Kelly ahead of Prismall in a heartbeat. Prismall has played what - 20 games? Kelly has had 6 years and although he's been improved this year he's still a long way from starring. His disposal still lets him down too.

It would not surprise me at all to see Prismall given a chance before the season is out. He'll get more opportunities.

I'm starting to see a pattern with Prismall ala Snell and Paul Lynch, that is a very talented player with little luck and injury prone.Hoping notbut seems that way.:(

We've pumped games into blokes who have far less skill and upside.

Byrne and Tenace for example. We have been bloody lucky with injuries this year (touch wood) the law of averages says that Prismal will get a chance in the coming year or two if he stays and stays fit.

If it turns out that we have no room for him at all in the squad, even as cover, then we are doing much better then I thought.
