If you want one of the best gigs you'll ever see then head along. Matt Caughthran is one of the best entertainers around.
I was at the same gig and it was awesome!! As good if not better than Hatebreed/Terror double bill at the same venue.

You're right on about Caughtran. Not only is he a great front man with huge pipes, but for sheer entertainment value, he can't be beat. Pours his heart and soul into every set and you can't help but be swept up in the moment as he thrashes about on stage. Who could forget last year's show at the HiFi where he dived into the pit and then proceeded to crowdsurf his way around the venue, all the while singing the songs at the same time.

Deadset champ.

Ever week I see if The Bronx are playing in london any time soon, not as yet

I wouldn't give up hope. The Bronx have got not one, but TWO new albums coming out in the near future so chances are they'll be on the road. The first one is out in November and continues in the same hard rock/punk rock vein as their earlier stuff, but the second album is going to be all mariachi. I was bemused at first but a clip of their mariachi material was posted on youtube and it was actually pretty good.

Ha ha yes i was pretty leathered by then but that was awesome when he was crowd surfing... Or throwing himself on the floor of the stage and screaming it out!!

Around the Horn and Dirty Leaves are two of my favourite songs ever. So interested to hear the mariachi album.

I'm hanging out for a show, I know they will be touring I just hope they get over here. I missed Cancer Bats the other week, didn't know it was on til the day after the gig!!!

Gallows are an awesome band too...

One of the most influential, yet underrated Punk bands I know of:

No Trend

From 1982-1988, Ashton, Maryland’s No Trend created some uniquely anti-establishment music. Jeff Mentges, one of the band’s founders, seemingly despised the clique that hardcore had become. Jack Anderson (bass) admits that they, “did not play hardcore music, but [they] did play hardcore shows. We also taunted punk rockers, who were essentially conformists within their own scene.” (NY Press, Mamone, Vol.15, Iss.2). The band also had a virtual revolving door line-up, which throughout their six years included: Eric Leifert, Brian Nelson (saxophone), Dean Evangelista (guitar), Buck Parr (guitar), James Peachey (drums), and Frank Price (guitar). Sadly, Frank Price passed away in 1989. One of the original members, he was an integral part of the philosophy that was No Trend. The band incorporated elements of metal, lounge, and country into a sound (or perhaps cacophony) that was unmistakably their own.

I excluded the Ramones and most of the early NY scene but did include Joy Division and Siouxsie & the Banshees & the Cramps even though others might disagree.

I might edit when I get home & have a second look at my collection too there were several bands I would love to have included but didn't.

I'll create the playlists over the weekend to test them for length so I might add more if I can fit more onto a standard music CD

Any love for the Cosmic Psychos?

Playing Golden Plains next year, confirmed. Probably the best punk band Australia has ever produced imo.
