so what exactly changes..?

i havn't really kept up to date/cared or even read that old thread that had a few hundred posts.
is it like those one or two games a generation that got left out now get let in?
or games like cod move from MA15+ rating to R?

regardless of the R rating for cod (if it gets one) we'll still see/hear a bagillion 12 year olds on it.....(considering you buy the game of course).

and get some blood in future zombies games, like Left 4 Dead 2, or just be able to play them (ie, Mortal Kombat)



and be allowed to play games with drug use, like Risen or NARC...

Considering how much of a nanny country we are with games, you'd reckon that games that got banned before would still get banned. And just the odd MA15+ game will get upped to R18+.
 
this may sound great but i thought i read that games will still be banned just like now, its just that some MA games can be upped to R, so to put into perspective,future games like postal 2 will still get banned, left for dead 2 will still be altered but games like cod mw will just be rated R...but i could be wrong ;)
 
Sorry I don't have a link but R18 was finally passed by the debate and will be part of the rating system for video games from Jan 2013.

I'm sure you all knew it was going to happen but I'm glad it's finally confirmed.

Games can still be banned because unlike the US where nothing can be banned under the second amendment, Australia's freedom of speech is only implied. Although hopefully banned games will be less common.
